    Great. There goes Aaron Donald.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

I agree more with IR. And besides, Long says that, but would he have been willing to take such a severe paycut with the Rams and be on the team as essentially a role player, as he is with the Patz? He was willing to do that for New England…but the Rams? And they could have used him, too.

Having said that, good for him to finally be on a winning team.

    Of course not.

    A) Do I take less money to play for a better chance to win with selfless players in NE

    or

    B) stay with Rams to play with selfish players that haven’t won in 10 years?

stay with Rams to play with selfish players that haven’t won in 10 years?

I’m suggesting that this whole “selfish players” riff attached to the Rams is a fabrication.

The reason the Patz have “selfless players” is cause guys are willing to take less to play there because and only because they have a strong regular winning streak going.

The exact same players would demand more money to play for the Rams.

That does not make the other Rams “selfish players.”

It makes New England a buyers market, is all. That’s all it amounts to.

And it makes the Rams equivalent to about 20-25 other teams that are NOT buyers markets.

So the presumably selfless Long takes more money somewhere else, less with the Patz. Why? They have Bellichick and Brady and keep winning. That’s not “selfless,” that’s crafty opportunism for a player who ALREADY made his money and wants a better chance to be part of a winning season.

Long’s crafty opportunism does not make other Rams players “selfish.”
