WTH is that gorilla thing? I’ve never seen that before in my life. I must have somehow copied the wrong tweet.

It’s a good one! Here’s what happened. Your tweet would not display. So I clicked on it and that’s what came up. I then re-copied it, and edited your post to put it in again so it would work.

I thought I was just making visible what you had originally put there.

So either as you said you mis-copied in the first place, or I somehow screwed up.

But I like the gorilla post either way.

I have no idea. Maybe I did it on my phone where Twitter works a little differently. It was a dolphin tweet. A dolphin launching out of the water and doing like ten 360s before splashing down.

You want spinning dolphin leaps? You got spinning dolphin leaps.

This is a Maned Wolf. However, it is neither a fox nor a wolf. It is the only species in the genus known as Chrysocyon. They live mostly in the grasslands of Brazil and are not a threatened species, but they are expected to become threatened because of dwindling numbers. Beautiful animals.

Harry from Facebook. He’s a very old friend of mine who has been a zookeeper for decades.

we’ve had an interesting set of observations here at Zoo Boise involving crows. We have an African species in our Gorongosa National Park exhibit, and shortly after they were introduced to their outside enclosure, native crows started flocking to the exhibit, where they would sit on top and chatter incessantly. As this progressed, what initially sounded like two distinct dialects began to merge into a single language! Very cool! But now, three years later, they rarely talk with one another.

A fisherman spotted her just east of the Faralon Islands (outside the Golden Gate) and radioed for help. Within a few hours, the rescue team arrived and determined that she was so badly off, the only way to save her was to dive in and untangle her…. a very dangerous proposition. One slap of the tail could kill a rescuer.

They worked for hours with curved knives and eventually freed her. When she was free, the divers say she swam in what seemed like joyous circles. She then came back to each and every diver, one at a time, nudged them, and pushed gently, thanking them. Some said it was the most incredibly beautiful experience of their lives.

The guy who cut the rope out of her mouth says her eye was following him the whole time, and he will never be the same.

May you be so fortunate to be surrounded by people who will help you get untangled from the things that are binding you.

And, may you always know the joy of giving and receiving gratitude
