Ndamukong Suh’s free-agent tour will continue Wednesday, when he is scheduled to visit the Oakland Raiders, per source.

Simply put: The Rams can’t offer Ndamukong Suh the best fit, and they probably can’t offer the most money. But they can provide the opportunity to be part of something special in 2018, then potentially cash in on the free-agent market in 2019.

The Rams might need to tread lightly with their pursuit of Ndamukong Suh, conscious of not further alienating Aaron Donald, who won’t be happy until he is given a far more lucrative contract. The Rams are probably somewhere between $20 and $25M in cap space if you account for their draft pool, but they need to save some space for a potential Donald extension — and they still have several holes to fill at linebacker.

Sam Shields was cleared to play by the Rams. He says he’s not concerned about his long history of concussions.

#Suh has told me he’s intrigued by playing on the same line as Donald/Brockers. Re Wade Phillips and his 3-4 defense: It has similar gap scheme as a 4-3. Suh is versatile and football savvy enough not to be confined to a super specific role. The #Rams understand this
    as well.

Ndamukong Suh has told me he’s developed a strong relationship w/Ted Rath (#Rams strength/conditioning coach) since Detroit. Other keys to LA’s pitch include a). Contending team predicated on healthy culture b). Wade Phillips’ brilliance at putting guys in a position to win.

I’m told the Rams broached the possibility of adding Ndamukong Suh with Aaron Donald. Yes, he’s good with it. That may change if they wound up paying Suh top dollar, but they won’t. Rams talked football with Suh at their facility earlier today and will dine with him tonight.

Thought initially that Michael Brockers would potentially be flanked by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh in this scenario. But the more likely fit, I’m told, is Donald at 3-tech, Suh at nose and Brockers at 5-tech. So, Donald and Brockers stay where they were last year.

Also: Don’t get excited. Nothing has happened.
