Meaning, does Fisher and his ideas of offense require a particular kind of qb?

Personally, I don’t think there is such a thing as a “Fisher qb.” I think Fisher would do fine with Goff, for example, or Lynch (assuming Lynch would make it as a pro). I think he would do equally well if he had either, say, Wilson or Flacco.

It seems to me that the kind of offense the Rams run…which IMO is often subject to incomplete descriptions…the qb will need to be many things: a good accurate ball control passer who minimizes mistakes, who is also good at play action and hitting big strikes (setting up the big play is central to everything the Rams do on offense). Like any qb in any offense you want him to be good on 3rd down and in the redzone. (Actually Bradford was fantastic in the redzone.) He also has to be a very good situational qb who can let it fly in 2-minute situations.

Any good qb can do that regardless of their style.

Chances are, the offense would also morph depending on who the qb was. So if it were say, Wilson, Flacco, Lynch, or Goff (just to be hypothetical), the offense would morph in the direction of that qb’s strengths, whatever they may be. This draft, I think he could do well with either Goff OR Lynch (again assuming Lynch is the real thing.)

I found my Karraker quote. At ~34 seconds into the podcast, he says “The Rams would have drafted Conner Cook, if he would have come out, at number 10.” Michigan State Football HC Mark Dantonio talks about Cook ~8:50.

If you trust Karraker and his source, then the Rams were serious about Cook last year.

I think Fisher likes TALL QBs. 😉

Fisher needs a RB that can throw passes. He needs Russel Wilson.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

Well we know about 3 qbs then who Fisher actively liked when they came out.

Bradford. They scouted him in 2010.

    Cutler.

And, according to this report, Cook.
