The evil-wv-ewe has been goin on about the ‘native plant’ issue for a while now. This is somethin she sent me.

wv ewe: “I am black and white about this. Pure American plants are called American native plants. If you want to know who sells them in your area I can give you a list. There are many issues leading to the rapid extinction of life on the planet. This is one.

We are losing 6000 acres of wild lands each day in the US. And have been losing land for decades. Much of this is being converted to farmland where it is sprayed with Round-up, killing everything that isn’t genetically engineered to resist Round-up. Those lands contained our native American wildflowers, shrubs and trees. This has ripped apart the web of life that we are a part of. Everything is affected. Insects have co-evolved for millennia eating only certain plants. They are specialists, just like monarchs. Most American insects can only eat and/or breed on a few certain native American plants. No native plants – no caterpillars – starving birds – starving rodents – starving larger animals who eat rodents. We are connected to this chain of life and we are causing its destruction because it’s too complicated to explain in a tweet.

Furthermore, the corporate elite who run this world don’t care if it collapses because they will be able to afford to buy the tiny food islands that are left. Everyone else will suffer in the desert that is left.”
