LadyRamFanParticipant
I think the Rams will take an early lead…..and will be leading going into halftime……
That’s all I have right now.
LadyRamFanParticipantEh. Perhaps I’m not sensitive enough. I enjoy “Homeland.” It’s compelling television (at least it was when it wasn’t focused on the romantic angle between Carrie and Brody.) It’s not realistic = same as the medical scenes on “House” or “E.R.” or the IT capabilities in “24” or the fire scenes in “Chicago Fire”, etc. There are bad Muslims and good Muslims, there are also bad and good people in the CIA and US government.
***But if you’re going to make the bad guy a Muslim–and Brody is a bad guy in the first season, right, and every time he goes off to pray in his garage in secret, there’s this eerie music, like, as if the very practice of Islam is something bad. And when his wife first discovers he’s converted, she has a fit. You know, she can’t believe. It’s like it’s a betrayal of everything that the West stands for.****
No. At that point in S1 you don’t know if Brody has been turned or not. That was the central question in the show. Is it possible he could have been a Muslim AND not a terrorist? Of course. Yes, the wife had a fit because she couldn’t understand why he turned to the religion of the men who captured and tortured him for years. Reasonable I’d think. They neglect to mention his daughter was completely supportive of his conversion.
I think they may be taking it a bit too far here.

LadyRamFanParticipantI’m torn. I was thrilled with the Fisher hiring so perhaps that’s why I’m still hanging on to some sliver of hope. I can’t really justify it by the team’s performance on the field.
LadyRamFanParticipantThink they can beat
Seattle in St.Louis?
I do.
w
vCan they? Absolutely. Will they? Highly doubtful IMO. If everything goes well they have a shot. Unfortunately there’s always ‘something’ and whatever ‘it’ is instead of rising up to overcome it, it feels like they fold.
I hope you’re right! I would LOVE a win vs. Seattle at home.
LadyRamFanParticipantIt’s bad. I’m sure they can improve but I just haven’t seen anything that makes me think they will. I agree the team lacks mental toughness. You can almost feel the team giving up at times. I knew the game was over when SF got the TD right before the half. It wasn’t just a momentum swing. It was over.
I hope things improve but I have no expectations they will.
LadyRamFanParticipantI’m just here for the pie…..

w
vI think he’s doing a nice job and seems to be a playmaker. Of course it’s very early but I’d like to see more of him. It sounds like Fisher is going back to Hill so we’ll probably see him vs. Philly. Fisher has been pretty adamant that Hill is his guy but I wonder if the offense starts to stall if he’ll consider a switch. As you pointed out in another thread the Eagles can put up some points so the Rams will have their hands full trying to keep up.

I think he/his staff has to do something about the mental mistakes and penalties though. I know the Rams are a young team, but I need to see some improvement.
LadyRamFanParticipantAnything is possible….but at this point I’d be happy with improvement over last week…

w
vI do too. I hope he doesn’t blame Janay for everything but he probably will.
I don’t see Goodell stepping down or the owners removing him. Perhaps this will raise awareness of domestic violence.

Domestic violence is full of strange, human, currents.
Think about the fact that the lady
is going to marry him…and think about
why that would be…etc. That is precisely what I was going to post! She already married him! And no one (except for your post here) says anything about that. How can she, her family and friends, anyone close to this woman think this is okay? Of course it is going to happen again no matter how desperately he tries to convince her it won’t. Now that he’s out of work the violence may escalate. I know domestic violence is a very complicated issue but my heart just breaks for these women who want to believe that he’ll change, or think it’s their fault or that they deserve this, etc. That upsets me more than anything.
LadyRamFanParticipantI was surprised. I wasn’t able to see much of pre-season but I wasn’t expecting such a poor showing. The penalties continue to bother me. I don’t see any improvement and that is one area I hoped Fisher and staff would clean up. I think the defense will be fine but I dunno about Schottenheimer and the offense. I know he’s in a really tough spot but nothing seems to be working. We’ll see.
LadyRamFanParticipantThat was painful but there is a lot of football left. Defense showed promise. I liked what I saw from Quick. Hekker is great. Many areas to improve over the season.
LadyRamFanParticipantHey long time no see old friend. Good to see you again.
Thanks so much Zack! It’s great to see you again! I’m excited for the new season and can’t wait to chat about it with this fantastic group of people.
LadyRamFanParticipantI like Sando. I’ve always found his commentary to be pretty evenhanded. I’m predicting the Rams go 9 – 7 this season, 10 – 6 if things fall their way. I don’t think a wild card is out of the question.

Year after year of new players and new coaches but nothing seems to impede the seemingly never ending stream of flags. Lets hope this is the year it happens.
Sincerely,
-LRFLadyRamFanParticipantHi everyone! I’ve been with several Rams boards in the past and am excited to join in the fun here. I hope to have more time to engage in the conversations this season but will certainly be reading and learning from your insights. It’s great to see some of you again and I’m looking forward to getting to know the folks I haven’t had the pleasure to read yet!!
Go RAMS!
