When Jack Buck passed I felt like I lost a family member

I could never get used to Harry Carey broadcasting for the Cubs. Jack Buck is the baseball broadcasting standard IMO. He and Shannon were a great team. Remember Red Rush?

I’m not a fan of his business dealings at all, and there is much to be critical of the way he accrued his fortune. But the right has consistently smeared him and lied about him and his philanthropy, trying to turn donations to mainstream causes into something sinister.

When the philanthropy is enabled by the impoverishment of nations then it is sinister. He’s a large scale version of Paul Kalmanovitz. Trash.

The Rams aren’t boring. They’ve lot dozens of games in many exciting ways.

I want to insert a sad face, but I don’t where the sad face thingies are.

    I’ll just draw one.

    Exciting for the other team.

Rams are most boring team of the decade.

I enjoyed this article, immensely. Dunno why.

I know some folks dont see the Rams offense as ‘boring’ — they see it as young, or injured, etc. But my brain sees those things, and still goes right to BORING, as well.

Good lord, have they been BORING.

On offense the Rams have been a snore for many years. Not so for defense and STs.

With the backing of national civil rights organizations and Mr. Soros‘ funding, “Black Lives Matter” grew from a hashtag into a social media phenomenon, including a #BlackLivesMatter bus tour and march in September.

Bnw, all articles, even sleazy (and funded) right wing blog stuff, that is posted on this site has to include sources. You have to link them. If not then the site owner can get in trouble.

I gave the source. It is in blue right above your post. You don’t see that?

Debate Moderators Released: They All Lean Left

BY: BEN SHAPIRO SEPTEMBER 2, 2016

Why do you always do this? Find Op Eds from far-right sources and post them as if they’re “proof.” Ben Shapiro used to run Breitbart before he started dailywire. He’s a far-right hack and serial liar, and nothing in his opinion piece is factual.

Sheesh. Please try to find at least half-way non-partisan sources.

Your sources ARE partisan. Now explain to me why we need TV “journalists” to ask questions of the candidates when the media’s approval rating with the public is at 6%?

I will be happy to do that if you’ll admit that your sources don’t tell us anything about the political leanings of the moderators. They just tell us about the political leanings of the Op Ed authors you cite.

What do you want from the moderators, a confession? All that can be done is hold them to their questions and statements in the past. Their bias is obvious.

Again, you post an opinion piece, from a discredited source, and you accept that opinion without questioning it. You assume they’re telling you the truth, even though Shapiro doesn’t provide any video or audio to support his contention, and his analyses of the comments he does paraphrase are bizarre. It’s all too similar to the Breitbart opinion piece on Clinton’s racism, which basically did this:

Trump was accused of being a racist for saying X
    Clinton said X
    Therefore Clinton is a racist.

Problem is, the premise is BS. No one accused Trump of racism for X. He was accused of racism for doing and saying other things entirely. So Breitbart — and now Shapiro — start with bogus premises, without video or audio proof, and make subjective judgments on top of those bogus premises.

    Don’t fall for it, bnw.

    Don’t obfuscate, BT.

Beyond that, I would prefer that print journalists (rather than TV) ask the questions and fact-check both candidates, rigorously.

Better yet, I’d get the most respected political scientists and historians to ask them. I wish America didn’t have such an aversion to intellectuals, but it does, and this is something the right has fomented in particular. They actively seek the dumbing down of political culture in America, and Trump has taken this to a new low.

The lunacy of the academic left knows no bounds.

Why yes BT George Soros is funding them. But if you know as much as you claim you already knew that.

    #BlackLivesMatter

With the backing of national civil rights organizations and Mr. Soros‘ funding, “Black Lives Matter” grew from a hashtag into a social media phenomenon, including a #BlackLivesMatter bus tour and march in September.

“More than 500 of us have traveled from Boston, Chicago, Columbus, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Nashville, Portland, Tucson, Washington, D.C., Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and other cities to support the people of Ferguson and help turn a local moment into a national movement,” wrote Akiba Solomon, a journalist at Colorlines, describing the event.

Colorlines is an online news site that focuses on race issues and is published by Race Forward, a group that received $200,000 from Mr. Soros’s foundation in 2011. Colorlines has published tirelessly on the activities in Ferguson and heavily promoted the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag and activities.

At the end of the #BlackLivesMatter march, organizers met with civil rights groups like the Organization for Black Struggle and Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment to strategize their operations moving forward, Ms. Solomon wrote. OBS and MORE are also funded by Mr. Soros.

Mr. Soros gave $5.4 million to Ferguson and Staten Island grass-roots efforts last year to help “further police reform, accountability and public transparency,” the Open Society Foundations said in a blog post in December. About half of those funds were earmarked to Ferguson, with the money primarily going to OBS and MORE, the foundation said.

OBS and MORE, along with the Dream Defenders, established the “Hands Up Coalition” — another so-called “grass-roots” organization in Missouri, whose name was based on now-known-to-be-false claims that Brown had his hands up before being shot. The Defenders were built to rally support and awareness for the Trayvon Martin case and were funded by the Tides Foundation, another recipient of Soros cash.

Hands Up Coalition has made it its mission to recruit and organize youth nationwide to start local events in their communities — trying to take Ferguson nationwide.

Debate Moderators Released: They All Lean Left

BY: BEN SHAPIRO SEPTEMBER 2, 2016

On Friday morning, the debate moderators emerged for the long-awaited presidential brawls between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. The first presidential debate will be moderated by Lester Holt of NBC News; the vice presidential debate will be moderated by Elaine Quijano of CBS News; Martha Raddatz of ABC News and Anderson Cooper of CNN for the second debate; and finally, Chris Wallace for the third debate.

This isn’t a great list for Hillary, but it’s a worse list for Trump.

That’s to be expected, since the media heavily support Hillary. Lester Holt is perceived as more objective than most, but he still leans left in his coverage. During the Democratic National Convention, he described President Obama’s speech thusly: “The roar is deafening here in this arena. President Obama delivering a speech, a powerful arc embracing hope and optimism, a passionate endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton and at times an artful takedown of Donald Trump, a call for Americans to participate in democracy.” And here was Holt’s description of Hillary’s big moment in the spotlight at the DNC: “Tonight from Philadelphia, history in the birth place of American democracy.” Holt has also been rather tough in his questioning of Trump during Trump’s attacks on Hillary, and supremely soft on Hillary (question to Hillary months ago: “How will you move the needle on race relations? Is there a moon-shot type strategy?”).

Then there’s Quijano, whom few have heard of – but when she was working at CNN in 2008, she worked to spin for Barack Obama; she has also reported on global warming back in 2014 thusly: “A 10-foot rise in sea level would submerge tunnels and subways here in Manhattan and parts of Queens and Brooklyn. But, Scott, it would also put the entire city of Miami Beach and much of South Florida underwater.”

    Terrific.

Martha Raddatz made headlines in 2012 when she didn’t reveal, before moderating the vice presidential debate, that she had actually invited President Obama to her wedding; her husband would then become Obama’s FCC commissioner. In 2012, she allowed Joe Biden to run roughshod over both her and Paul Ryan.

Anderson Cooper is obviously heavily biased to the left – just view his pathetic interview with Pam Bondi in Florida after the Orlando jihadist attack in a gay nightclub, in which he hammered her for the sin of not supporting same-sex marriage.

Finally, there’s Chris Wallace. Wallace is the most left-leaning of the major Fox hosts (other than Shep Smith, of course) – but he’s also been friendly to Trump, performing softball interviews with Trump and attacking his rivals.

Overall, this might be the best lineup Republicans could have negotiated. But it’s just more evidence that nearly the entire media leans left – and that those who lean right will never be tolerated by Hillary Clinton. Which means that Republicans are always at a disadvantage, and they ought to be prepared for that disadvantage.

The other question is, why do the most privileged people in America — white Christian males — act like they’re the most oppressed? Why are they the angriest, on a day to day basis, when they have the fewest actual reasons to be so permanently outraged?

Typical. Always race pimpimg. Working people, aka taxpayers are fed up with being ignored, forgotten, sacrificed, by the establishment. Working people realize the establishment exists for itself and this election is their chance to demand fundamental change.

You’re disconnected from a great majority of americans who you should be listening to rather than disparaging them, aka The Deplorables.

Also, not sure if you’re trying to say that a “great majority of Americans” support Trump, but if you are, you should take a look at the numbers. Total registered voters in America is roughly in the 176 million range. Dems garner roughly 29%, the GOP roughly 26%, and when we add the much larger contingent of independents, the Dems increase their advantage slightly. But we’re still talking about roughly half of all Americans, for all parties put together, and Trump has support from well under half of that half.

To be really, really generous, he’s in the 23% range. Clinton’s only slightly higher. So when she made her comment about “basket of deplorables, she was talking about half of that half of that half. Give or take, 12% of the country, roughly. Her “basket of deplorables” referred to just about 12% of Americans.

You will see how far off your numbers are in November. With all the usual democrat vote fraud Trump will have to win by a huge margin just to supposedly squeak by with a win.

bnw, I listen to Trump supporters all the time. I live in the middle of them. And I listen closely. What I never hear is any reason for them to support Trump, or how he would do any of the amazing, utopian things he’s promised you he’d do, like prevent ALL terrorism and add tens of millions of new jobs.

And it’s pretty obvious you and they don’t listen to Trump’s critics. You dismiss it all out of hand. If you were listening, you’d at least attempt to answer the questions I posed.

Can you do that, bnw? Can you answer those very basic questions, honestly, clearly, with details?

The state level is much closer to the people. That cannot be denied.

The state level is much closer to the people. That cannot be denied.

    ———–
In wv the state-gov is owned and operated by ‘Big-private-sector’. Big Coal, Big Fracking, Big Pharma (Mylan), and a few others.

So, it may be closer ‘in theory’ but in reality the rich-folks run things at all levels. Fed, State, County, City. Its always been that way in the real world.

I would love to see America be a country where small businesses had equal influence with the big-private-sector-monstrosities, bnw. It woulda been nice if it had turned out that way. Making the Big-Government smaller wont save us. Cause it will not kill Big-Private-Sector. If you only kill half the problem, the ‘other’ half will just grow even more powerful and deadly. This is my fundamental problem with rightwingers. They only see half the problem. And thus their solution will lead to even worse corporate-monsters.

Trump will win by beating the establishment on a national level. So astsin context of the 50 states it is more than theory. I live in Trump country. For literally hundreds of miles in all directions this is Trump country. People are tired of voting on issues only to see their vote overturned by the court on issues that are a state concern. The economy here is generally shit and has been for the last few decades. The trade deals have decimated our economy in flyover country but the establishment only gives a shit about the coasts. We’re supposed to just put up with it? Really? How do you think that is going to work in the long run?
