I don’t care if he has a 3rd grade reading level if he hires the right collection of geniuses to attack and solve the Nation’s problems. Another 4 years of watching this Country deteriorate into a politically correct safe haven for litigious self-appointed ‘Champions of the Cause’ who are offended by virtually everything? Yeah, no thank you very much.

I want him to win for no other reason than to keep ‘her’ from appointing those kinds of judges to the Supreme Court.

The latest perversion is the CryBully at universities. Their seeing Vote Trump sends them to the “mental health professionals”. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

I think I may not understand the “anti-PC” crowd. I cannot put that sentiment into a favorable light in my head. Seriously, all I hear when people complain about “PC” is something like, “Yeah, it takes too much energy and effort to be considerate of people who don’t think the way I do, so they should just toughen up and get over it. Since their concerns are not my concerns, they aren’t worthy of my respect.” That’s what I hear.

When I see your argument I wonder why only the PC crowd is allowed a voice? The same BS that claims racism at the drop of a hat. To simply disagree is to be branded a racist. People of conscience are fed up with that BS and support Trump’s straight talk about issues that matter to the ignored and “deplorable” masses.

It’s all about maximizing profit–whatever it takes.

I won’t go into details but I can tell you my company manufactures a product and that same product may get three different labels. Same product–different labels. Different price.

That happens a lot. You pay more thinking you’re getting quality. Not necessarily.

Look at customer service. It sucks most places. Does it have to? Nope. But sending a customer through endless recordings or to a call center in India is cheaper.

Companies believe there is endless profit.

They can buy out competition. They can cut workers. Cut quality. You name it–all kinds of tricks.

So I’m no car guy. But I believe it. Putting in quality parts is expensive.

    Car prices today are astronomical.

I saw that the new Chevy Cruz can go anywhere from 22 to 29,000 dollars.

    That’s an economy car.

    Wow.

Reminds me of the movie Tommy Boy.

Anybody ever talk to a car mechanic? I talk to em all the time
cause i drive old beat-up cars. Anyway, everytime i talk to an old grizzled
veteran car-guy, they always make a speech about how the parts they are forced
to use are ‘shit’ nowadays. They remember times when this or that company made good parts. But now they are all made cheaply and they are not good quality no matter what the brand is.

So my question is..is that true? Or just old people grousing about the good ole days.
Are there any good companies left that make quality stuff — or have all the big corporations
just decided to cut corners and sell junk for profit?

    Thoughts?

    w

I have always bought used cars and I work on them whenever I can rather than taking to the shop. Well if it’s something I can’t figure out or if that and there is an on board computer then I will take it to the shop for diagnostics only, then decide if the work is something I can do. That said the quality depends upon how old the car is and where the part is made, whether new, used or NOS.

Depending upon the part and the reliability necessary I usually start at NOS first and base pricing for new and used off that. I’ve noticed that electrical switches were made far more reliable 30+ years ago. Those used parts are rarely if ever worn out. Modern day switches from all the major manufacturers are designed to fail and are another profit center of dealerships. These days almost every part that is routinely used is not of sufficient quality to be used every day past 5 years thus just outside of warranty coverage.

Only certain shops still turn rotors these days so those parts are meant to be bought new now and the hope is the life expectancy is as good or better than original.

Another terrible scam is the pollution control system on the newer cars. If your car is over 10 years old or has been routinely filled to overflowing then your evap canister is going to need to be replaced. Many times this is located where it is so labor intensive to get to that the labor charge is extremely expensive. I’m working on this now in which the labor charge is $600 and the parts are another $600. I got the parts used from the junk yard at a you can pull it place for $20. The shop quoted me the $1200 based upon replacing the entire system since the diagnostic cost on each part would have run into much more than some of the parts can be bought new. The most expensive part is the charcoal canister which is $500 alone new. I have a used one I can try and if bad I can open it up and replace the activated charcoal for $5 and the fiber filter sheet for another $5 and have enough to rebuild both canisters.

Drive components seem to be good quality if bought from the dealer or same part from same manufacturer through a large chain auto part store.

These days the best way to go if you have the time is to buy over the Internet from suppliers or clubs devoted to a particular car. I have two cars that have $13 oil filters everywhere from different manufacturers. I was able to get the OE oil filter for $2 and similar savings for the fuel, cabin, and air filters too. Stocked up on at least a 100K supply for each car and that is with replacing the oil filter at half the recommended mileage interval. One your car has been updated twice the dealers and manufacturers begin to heavily discount all parts to free up space in the warehouse for more profitable parts so you can get great deals even on wear items after 10 or 15 years. If the car wasn’t a popular model then you will have to work at it but these days that is what the Internet does anyway though shipping costs are involved.

Auto parts stores can have questionable quality but usually great warranty.
NOS is the right part by the right manufacturer at the OE quality.
Used parts are a gamble with or without warranty but if from a you pull it yard you get to practice on their vehicle before yours!

    Good luck.

In this day and age, the population cares little about scandal and crime within government. Neither does the press.
If any of these scandals had been present in the Nixon administration, he wouldn’t have lasted 2 months. If these scandals had been present just prior to an election in the 70’s, that candidate would get 0 electoral votes (well, maybe Massachusetts, which is all McGovern got in ’72).
It astounds me that possibly a majority of the people are overlooking the crimes involving Clinton, and the Obama administration is following right along with it.
Trump isn’t a clean boy scout by any means. But with Hillary we are talking about state secrets and possible pay for play involvement.
Wow. Richard Nixon was ripped off in the light of history.

Obama is overlooking it only because he is up to his own eyeballs in culpability in the email scandal. He knew all along what was going on and he himself used a private unsecured email account to conduct state business with Hildabeast, which is ILLEGAL. He should be impeached and Loretta Lynch is his John Mitchell.

Bernie is an embarrassment. These email revelations are repeated kicks to his nuts and not a peep from him. I suppose getting Hildabeast to assume all of his campaign debt is all that really matters to him. The dope actually said he didn’t care about her emails during a debate. Generals get years in prison while peasants like yours truly would be given life in prison for just ONE email offense of hers.

    Where have you been?

What Bernie said is that he already knew all of this, so these revelations are old. It was an ongoing complaint from Bernie and his supporters throughout the primaries. He reacted to all of this months ago.

Wrong again. On purpose? Dementia? Because that isn’t what Bernie said. Bernie downplayed the importance of the email scandal. Downplayed it so Hildabeast could then campaign against Trump not on the issues but that Trump is such a bad person. Nothing substantive on the issues from Hildabeast against Trump. I do agree with Bernie that there are real issues that should be addressed in a presidential campaign and the email scandal directly deals with Hildabeast’s fitness for the office. All he did was give her a big pass and she of course was grateful towards him and his “bucket of losers” (Hildabeast’s term) supporters.

See that Donna Brazile fed Clinton a debate question prior to a March debate with Bernie?

Later she becomes DNC chair to replace Wasserman Schultz. What a shock. So the DNC chair is nakedly favoring Clinton, so she gets replaced…with a nakedly pro-Clinton person. That’s how that problem was corrected.

I dunno. On Facepalm right now, I see lots of former Bernie supporters brainwashing themselves into Clinton supporters, and it makes me sad. Let’s not forget who and what she is, people.

Voting for Clinton doesn’t make you a supporter. It could mean you’re just more afraid of the alternative. I plan to vote for Clinton and I know exactly who she is. I think a lot of other people voting for her do too. I know a lot of people who are voting for Clinton but only a few of them like her. It’s just that the alternative is worse. Heck, protecting reproductive rights for women alone makes her a better choice.

Then vote for that duplicitous, corrupt, lying, treasonous WARMONGERING Hildabeast!

I know barn swallows well. They do like nesting under bridges but only where there is water and a large open area. They fly throughout the 100 feet above the ground and also fly extremely low within a few inches of the ground and fly into each other which I doubt the study takes into account. They also sometimes sit in the road. Amazing aerial maneuvers they perform throughout their ceiling.

When I was but a wee lad we had barn swallows nesting under our rain gutters (or spouting as we used to say in central PA) for a few years. The nesting pair would mercilessly dive bomb our cat. She was a beautiful calico named Mitty who was under constant attack from the moment she stepped outside until she got about 50 – 75 feet from the house. They didn’t attack people so much but our cat was always a target.

They can be very aggressive at times. They frequently fly directly at me then turn within a few feet of me. The wind off their wings when they make their turn is a bit unsettling. When they are in a large swarm (easily 100 or more birds) they can come at you from any direction too. To think of all the energy expended eating very small insects it doesn’t seem to be enough food given the exertion. Beautiful birds though.

The very violence cited at Trump events was planned and paid for by theHildabeast campaign. Yet crickets. Now she blows an 8 point lead in 3 days and she has to bus in a crowd at events and you still believe the MSM polls? You still believe the MSM?

Of course Anyone winning at this time is hypothetical but I know what Trump support I have seen where I live and the large venues packed to overflowing with his supporters everywhere in this country. He’s doing it without help from the RNC. His movement is real and how it effects the duopoly in the future we can only guess.

It won’t surprise me if Trump wins. The race is tightening a great deal, primarily because a lot of #nevertrump folks have decided to vote GOP anyway. He’s not winning over new voters. He’s not expanding his tent. But the gap between the two was mostly due to a lack of GOP support for Trump — and opposition to him from women and pretty much every minority in America. The latter may not be enough in such a divided nation.

If the Dems had nominated a better candidate, one without all of the Clinton baggage, I think this election would have been over months ago. There are dozens of Dems and independents who could have crushed Trump, easily one of the most ignorant, hate-filled, vindictive and unqualified people to ever run for the office.

To me, it was self-centered of HRC to run, and the Democratic Party basically cleared the field for her. It was “her turn,” supposedly. So they ignored all the signs and the vast majority of potential candidates chose to stand on the sidelines. The result is a close race that could go either way.

Trump is winning over new voters which is expanding the tent. Party registration increases in all the states proves that and early voting is showing a surge never seen before. All that remains is to see if it is enough to overcome the typical democrat vote fraud and voter intimidation rampant in democrat controlled urban areas.

Hildabeast is a terrible candidate. Possesses zero charisma. Cannot speak extemporaneously. A thoroughly scripted robot whose claim for the office is based upon gender. She also despises her voters and it shows. She’s also undeniably corrupt. The democrat party is a cesspool to allow such a candidate to be the nominee. Even then she had to steal the nomination. What is the democrat preoccupation with having to superficially trailblaze at every opportunity? The nominee should possess the right message not the desired skin color or sex.

But all is not lost for you with a Trump victory. It will be the very beginning you have said you want. The dismantling of the establishment. CNN yesterday woke up to the reality. The look of shock and disbelief on their faces said it all. The rigged MSM assault against Trump has backfired with the voters. More Wiki-leaks to go. Perhaps the MSM will actually cover them now? Imagine real journalism.
