OK, its time for the Wild Card standings watch.

The loss to the Bears was the one that bothered me the most this year.   If the Rams had had even one of their best WRs in that game, they take it.

    Anyway. Three teams make it.

Right now, it looks like these are the teams we have to hope crash:

    Eagles 6-2

    Vikings 6-2

    Packers 6-3

    Bears 4-4

    Bucs 4-4

    49ers 4-4

    Rams 4-4

Course, at the moment, the Cards are 5-4, leading the West.

SFO radio this morning was talking about this very issue. How it looks like the NFC West will not win a wild card berth. “All the parking spots are taken” is how they put it. So…the clearest pathway is by taking the division. They see the Rams as the 49ers’ biggest competition for that.

So do I. The division is there for the taking, so while a Wild Card slot would be nice insurance, the division title is the goal, and it’s certainly within reach. I just can’t take the Cardinals seriously. Apart from the Warner years, they’ve basically sucked my entire life, and I just am not going to believe them until they make be believe them, and 5-4 isn’t that compelling.

The Rams are in the hunt.

Rams have to upset either the Eagles or Bills to have a chance at playoffs
