RENTON — Center wasn’t a position of attention this season for the Seattle Seahawks but of attrition.
Injuries forced Seattle to start four different centers during the 2014 regular season for the first time in team history.
None started more than the six games of opening-day starter Max Unger. Never before in Seahawks’ history had one center not started at least seven games.
Was it a challenge piecing together an offensive line all season with such a revolving door at such a key spot?
“You could say that,’’ said offensive-line coach Tom Cable.
In fact, the turnstile at center is the main reason Seattle fielded its projected starting offensive line just four times this season — and not once since an Oct. 6 game at Washington.
That is expected to change when the Seahawks open the playoffs Saturday against Carolina, with Unger expected to return after missing the past six games with an ankle injury…see link
