I am having a hard time reconciling this team. They have won 7 of their last 9. They won a tough game against a top caliber team (the Bills). Three of their six losses were by less than a touchdown, one was by 8 points (Dolphins), another was by 31 (Cardinals) and another was not anywhere near as close as the score, 17 to the Eagles.
This team looked like it would be picking early in the draft when they played the Eagles, with unsolvable roster gaps all over against a top playoff caliber team. Then they competed, and in ways controlled, the Bills, another top playoff caliber team in a convincing win that made them look legitimate. They even fought though a tough road game against the 49ers and came out with a key divisional win.
So who is this team? I am not convinced what I saw in the game against the Eagles isn’t true. I am also hopeful that what we saw against the Bills could be how they close out this season.
On a last minute call, I am making the 350 mile road trip to see them take on the Jets next weekend as an early Christmas present for my son and I. It will be my son’s first NFL game and obviously his first Rams game. It will be my first game since 2017, when I also went to the meadowlands to seem them spank the Giants 51-17. I remember one specific play, a 3rd and 33 that the Rams not only converted on, but scored a 52 yard TD (Goff to Woods).

Yeah, its been a strange year, for a lot of reasons. The injuries have made the team into two or three different teams at different times.
And i have the sense the entire NFC West has been a bit schizophrenic. All the teams have gone through significant in-season changes.
Without the injuries, I assume they would have at least beaten the Bears and Dolphins. I think they would have been about a 10-4 team at this point. Not Lions/Eagles level, but pretty good.
