Yeah, the Rams don’t really have a home field advantage. The greater LA area has a population of 18 million people. It’s hard to believe with a population of that size you can’t find 60,000 people who want to go to a football game.

Overall, I’m glad they are back in LA. That’s where they were when I became a fan and most of my fondest memories of the Rams were formed there. But I’m not sure even winning will fill that stadium. I’m not sure LA cares enough or ever will. It’s not a knock on LA. Other than a few thousand diehards, it’s not like the city campaigned to get the Rams back.

But I find the lack of interest odd. There’s less than a million people in the greater Pittsburgh area but if the Steelers built a 300,000 seat stadium they’d fill it.

That really sucks.

The NFL really wants to be in LA so bad–and I get that it’s a huge market and the TV value may be where most of the value is–but most people there could care less about football and that’;s a problem. When you get more visiting fans in your stadium you aren’t particularly wanted. And I’m not sure a single winning season can change that. This may take a generation.

The only advantage is not having to travel. There is no crowd advantage.

A lot of younger fans adopted other teams. They became television fans of whoever.

You need to be good–and be good for awhile. And then–maybe, over time, you’ll get some fans to come to the games.

But for now–they may as well get used to it.

Developing a winning culture to attract fans will take time…

Especially in a behemoth stadium.

Need some magic moments to consistently happen. Kupp making the catch against Seattle would’ve helped

What is sad, for the fans to show up, the Rams need to be like the Patriots and win multiple Super Bowls in a short amount of time.

i went to the niner game last year with my nephews. literally a sea of red. and the niners suck. and by the end of the game my nephews were cheering on the niners…

i told them i’m never taking them to a football game again.

LA fans are just bandwagon fans, though tradition helps in LA just like it does everywhere else. The Dodgers and Lakers have had down years, and attendance drops, but they have a tradition of being in the mix. The Rams will get it together, but they have to show the fans they are worth watching.

Did you notice the empty seats in Jacksonville yesterday? And I don’t know what their stadium holds, but it sure as hell isn’t the coliseum.

The Rams sold a ton of tickets for the first half of last year. But last year left ashes in the mouth, and that is hardly a good football venue. If you think LA won’t pack Kroenkeworld, though, you’re out of your mind. Rams fans will pack the place. But if the Rams suck, the fans will leave. LA has a lot of options. That really IS part of the package there.
