Anybody think Fisher has any significant
weaknesses that can be posted in human words ?

I dunno, myself. I mean, He’s outcoached Harbaugh and Pete Carrol
when he’s had lesser talent. But then there’s things like dum-penalties
that just keep popping up year after year. He doesn’t seem to know
    how to correct that.

He’s a bringer of bad luck, maybe ?

It’s hard to know what can be laid at his feet. You mentioned how he outcoached Harbaugh and Carroll and beat them with lesser talent. However, he’ll immediately follow up a big victory with a big loss to a team with lesser talent.

But is that on him, or just the nature of a young team with QB issues?

I think it’s difficult to win in this league without a QB and Fisher has had to contend with QB issues from the beginning. He wasn’t to blame for the QB situation until he brought in Foles and even people who didn’t like the trade didn’t foresee that catastrophic meltdown coming. If the Rams had just got average play out of Foles they would have won 10 games last year.

The penalties are a tangible thing you can point to as a weakness. His team’s lack discipline and that’s on him. I’m not sure he considers that a weakness though. He likes his teams to be a little chippy.

There’s no correlation between penalties and winning. Aggressive teams like Seattle are just penalized a lot.

Did you notice this August in the preseason games that the Rams offense, however, was not getting false starts, illegal formation, and/or holding calls?

This summer it was pretty much all special teams penalties plus defensive encroachment.

His philosophy of keeping it close and somebody making a play to win it is a recipe for disaster . That and evaluating WRs .

This probably deserves a better response.

I would say one clear weakness is that he can tend to over-estimate certain players. Darryl Richardson for example, or Cook.

But to me that’s balanced by things like taking 2 rookies of the year in a row, and coaching up some very solid UDFAs.

So it’s mixed. I think mixed tilting toward the positive, but mixed.

The problem is not a mostly positive but still somewhat mixed personnel evaluation record.

It’s being wrong about a guy and then putting a lot of eggs in his basket. Again, like Richardson, who almost single-handedly destroyed the entire offense in early 2013.

I don’t think that he inspires much fear around the complex or among the players. Nobody’s really on edge around him. Granted, this is based on watching Hard Knocks and getting the feeling that he’s not a very scary person. Even when he singles people out for being careless their response is to laugh (along with the rest of the team). I don’t know if that matters much in the grand scheme of things, but I just can’t see guys like Arians or Belichick or Coughlin creating such an easy-going atmosphere in their respective camps.

Spags was kind of a dictator, but he didn’t inspire much fear either, IMO. People can pretend to be intense and whatnot, but I don’t think anyone really took Spagnuolo seriously. He doesn’t have that kind of ominous presence.

You have to be odd, to be number one.

Fisher’s weaknesses are shitty NFL owners, brunettes and YooHoo.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.
