I’d say no. And he’s two years older.

I’d rather have Goff than Wentz.

So, the Eagles get a 3rd and potentially a 1st** for him, and the Rams actually have to give up high draft picks and Goff to unload their guy.

Wentz, apparently, has an even worse dead-money cap hit, so that can’t be the rationale.

To me, that was a seriously stupid trade for the Rams. One of their worst. Not as bad as Dickerson or Bettis. But bad. And it’s going to hurt them long-term too.

    Thoughts?

**Apparently, if Wentz plays something like 75% or more of the snaps, the conditional 2nd turns into a 1st.

    I don’t think that’s what happened.

I think what happened is that the Rams paid a (rightfully) high price for Stafford. There is no Stafford in the Wentz deal.

On top of it, Detroit turned down Carolina’s 2021 1st round pick, an 8, and took the Rams deal. Their GM (Holmes) was the Rams chief of scouting for the entire 5 years Goff was with the Rams. He knows who Goff is and clearly wants him.

The big difference here is Stafford.

Wentz is a mystery to me.
He showed MVP talent for a while. Surely, in the right situation
with the right coach, surrounded by the right players,
    he could regain his form.

Wouldnt surprise me if Wentz had a great
    second act.
