Hammond (from article in this thread — http://theramshuddle.com/topic/press-sets-up-the-ravens-game/#post-108562)

in their past four games, the Rams have enjoyed a dramatic defensive turnaround in all areas. Here’s the breakdown:

Seahawks are headed toward a win and a 9-2 record. If you’re tracking the Rams’ playoff chances, it’s probably best to cut bait on the idea of them catching Seattle and instead hope the Seahawks beat 8-3 Minnesota next week.

I agree with that. Minn is our best chance.

Certainly take an AFC win over an NFC contender, anytime.

But it’ll be nearly impossible for L.A. to play into January unless they win head-to-head in Dallas next month.

So best I can tell, after PHI loss, this DAL-NE outcome is of very minimal consequence to #LARams.

According to Schefter’s sources, the Rams didn’t find out Woods wasn’t playing vs. Chicago until 3 hours before kickoff.

Schefter’s source is probably Sean McVay, who literally said the Rams didn’t find out until “a couple hours before the game.”

    Talk about a non-story

Of course they were surprised by his family emergency. So was he.

Over the last several years the OL in the NFL has been weaker than the DL (as a whole) & OT is the thinnest position on the OL. There have been some great examples lately driving home thIs point + the value of a great T. GB losing Bulaga, Wynn returning to NE, Lane down in PHI.

Tunsil’s impact, what DAL looked like without Tyron/Collins, LAC without Okung. The list goes on. What SF did without their two tackles this season is an anomaly, largely because Shanahan is so great at what he does.

Some teams can handle losing one of them (PHI at LT, BUF at RT) but the list is very short and the drop off for most very steep.

Since 1978, only three teams have allowed under 150 points thru 11 games while maintaining a better point differential than this year’s Pats.

All three of those teams (the 1985 Bears, the 1991 Redskins, and the 1999 Rams) won the Super Bowl.

Fuck it. Send an NFC West team to the #SuperBowl every year.

I’m next to positive that the last thing anybody needs is another Patriots Super Bowl victory.

the #Ram invested $$ and picks and attention into O-line over last three years. But between injuries and sluggish development this year, it just hasn’t come together as they envisioned.

“Sluggish development” is the optimistic view. Another view would be they flat-out made the wrong personnel moves. Ie, the young players aint gonna get good.

We dont know which it is yet.

Oh i think at least 3 of the new OL are good and one is a find. I don’t blame the sluggish line at the start of the season on the newcomers I think the problem is that both tackles regressed. The newbies woulda done better with decent tackle play
