Draft and FA classes were strong to say the least. And that’s Les Snead/Sean McVay and scouts being on same page
Cooper Kupp in the third round was so critical. First/round talent. Got Rams draft back on schedule

Here’s what Rams LT Andrew Whitworth said about this team’s expectations: “It’s a mindset, it’s a mentality, that really started a long time ago. I think these things really do start in the offseason. I think Sean really put us in the right direction. We talk all the time about the standard and really what we expect from every guy every day, and the daily improvement, and the daily things that we want guys to do. Having been on teams that have made runs and gone to the playoffs, it’s important that myself and other guys that have ever been in that situation to continue to encourage guys to realize the standard needs to keep rising. The season goes on, the expectation will grow, the pressure will grow, the games will get bigger, and your standard of what is good and what is expected out of you has to rise with it. That’s really going to be the hard part going forward, and it’s not easy to do. We have to continue to raise our level and raise what we expect of ourselves.”
Aaron Donald, on how the Rams handle going into the bye week as the toast of the NFL: “Stay focused. Enjoy it, but at the same time, you know you have to keep working, because it’s a long season. We’ve got a lot more games to play. Come back a little better and a little bit more hungry, and we’ll be fine.”
Sean McVay’s message to his Rams: “Who were you talking about after seven weeks last year? What were guys’ records? Nobody care”
Pro Football Focus’ top Rams grades from Sunday, in order: Saffold, Whitworth, Barron, Walker, Donald, Gurley.
Mark Barron is the NFL’s best inside linebacker with regards to run stop percentage, per PFF. 27 tackles, 19 stops in 165 snaps vs. the run.
Over the last three weeks, the Rams’ defense has the second-most interceptions per attempt (4.8%) and the ninth-most sacks per attempt (10.5), while allowing the fourth-lowest Total QBR (26.3), the fourth-fewest first downs (14.7 per game) and the eighth-fewest yards (274.3 per game).
I’d like to know the betting odds at the start of the year for the Rams leading the NFL in points through the first 7 weeks. They’re averaging an NFL-leading 30.29 points per game, while ranked second in third-down conversions (49 percent) and ninth in yards (369.1 per game). They’re also first in average point margin (10.57).

Kind of day it was: Seven NFL teams failed to score an offensive TD on Sunday, the most on a single day since Dec. 16, 2001 (also 7)
