I personally don’t have much in the way of interesting thotz on the super bowl.

But I am interested in hearing your thotz.

This is one of those Super Bowls where I have no rooting interest. I will probably watch it. Most of it, anyway.

I will say that I hope plenty of attention is paid to the fact that Dick Vermeil did not win a super bowl with either team, and that they devote most of their time discussing the one Super Bowl that he did win.

Looks like I’m not going to be able to watch it after all.

Fitting end to a season I mostly missed anyway.

And it looks like a good season to miss.

So you’re not going to the game this year?

Why are you missing games? Not that it’s “an issue” just actually curious.

Looks like the two best teams got in.   Usually i root for the team that hasnt won a Ring in a while, but both these teams have won in the last decade.   I dunno.   Just cant find a reason to root even mildly for either team.

Strange two years for the Rams.   Last year and this year.

My parents are 93 years old. They live 90 miles from me in my childhood home.

I spent every weekend August – Thanksgiving moving them into a retirement home. And since the first of January, I have been going to the house every weekend to clean it out, clean it up, and prepare it for sale. Going up tonight for a 4-day weekend, as it happens.

The only games I saw this year were games played on days other than Sunday, with the exception of the final game against the Seahawks. I saw that.

    Philly OL vs. KC DL

This matchup has been talked about a lot and I do think it benefits Philly. They’ve got the best OL in the game and have all year. Why? They can do everything, and they do it well. Each lineman is good (or better) on their own and they’re even better together

The run game is as diverse as it gets. Inside zone, outside zone, toss plays, gap schemes, and everyone pulls (both play side and on gap schemes). You combine that ability with what Jalen brings to a running game and it’s no wonder they’re so diverse and successful.

Chris Jones is the key for the Chiefs DL, really the whole D. He’s the one that makes things go. In the run game I’m most interested in seeing how much gap scheme Philly is willing to run. In a perfect world you’d want Chris on the frontside, not the backside, if you’re Philly.

If Chris is on the backside, the Center back blocks him. He makes/destroys many plays as the backside DT against gap scheme runs. Jason Kelce will have his work cut out on those blocks, especially if Philly pulls both G+T. Then Kelce has no help. We’ll see how they approach it.

In the pass game I’m going to be looking at the interior OL to see how and if we can attack inside and win. As I mentioned the other day, Mike Danna is a very good pass rusher as a 3 technique. Can he win 1-on-1 against Dickerson and Seumalo?

Chris is going to win some reps like normal. But Philly has a better G/C/G than he’s seen lately. Part of the last few weeks has been that he beats the G so quickly that the C either can’t help, or is in poor position to. I don’t think Philly will make that type of mistake.

Philly’s Gs, when they have C help, will pass set him properly and won’t cut off their help. And the help is Jason Kelce, who will be in better position to block Chris than the last few weeks. We’ll see how that matchup plays out but it’ll go a long way in determining the game.

How Spags counters Philly’s OL is my other fun nugget in this matchup. Do they run blitz more than normal to try and slow down Philly’s run game? Do they blitz on 3rd down to force pressure and 1-on-1s? Move Chris around? Or play normal D and see if they can win the matchups?

I’m sure Fangio, who Gannon’s defense is based off of, and has experience with the Chiefs as an AFC West opponent, helped the defense too

An amazing performance by the entire OL. And let’s give OL Coach Andy Heck his credit. He had everyone one of these OL ready for the challenge and they played their best game this night. He’s also responsible for the run game, which was fantastic tonight.

#Eagles CB James Bradberry said in the locker room that he held JuJu Smith-Schuster: “It was a holding. I tugged his jersey. I was hoping they would let it slide.”

The @Eagles had 4 more 1st downs, 19 more plays, held the ball 11 more minutes than the @Chiefs
and scored the most point ever for a team to lose the Super Bowl. This is what it’s like to play Patrick Mahomes on a 2nd half heater: 4 possessions , 3 TDs and FG.
    .
Jalen Hurts put on a masterful performance with a shoulder that is way worse than anyone knows. He’s going to be a force in Philadelphia for years
    .
Patrick Mahomes is now 14-10 when his team falls behind by 10 or more points. No other QB has a winning % more than 37% since 1950

Jalen Hurts needed a quick touchdown and a 2-pointer to tie the Super Bowl at 35-35. He did it with 5 minutes left and never got the ball back. That’s life in the Mahomes era.

The Eagles only failed to record a sack in 2 games this season: Week 6 vs Dallas, and the Super Bowl.

Jalen Hurts is the only QB to produce 4 touchdowns in a Super Bowl loss.   Entering Sunday, teams were 39-0 when scoring 35+ points in the conference championship (24-0) & Super Bowl (15-0). 39-0.

I couldn’t believe the Eagles D front wasn’t able to apply more pressure. Kudos to the KC OL, but the turf obviously played an important role as well.

Eagles defense played less than 9 minutes in the first half  then sat 30 minutes at the half didn’t ever get their groove going,

Mahomes sliced up their soft zone and their well rested Oline dominated in the second half. disapointed the 1. rated corners

in the league were wasted in this scheme and had no answer for whatshisname at TE. thanks Fazio.
