I’m keeping a very low profile for the game. Just me, the wife and the cat.
Keeping the game dinner / snacks low profile too.
There is a great, underrated “Apizza” joint in West Haven called Zuppardi’s. Same vintage as Pepe’s and Sally’s, but not the same level of fame.
Anyway, one of my local grocery stores sells a 3 pack of their dough shells for $8.00. Hands down, the best frozen crust I have ever bought, and not just my opinion; my wife and kids agree.
I’m feeling a little run down, so all three are getting garlic. The one meat pie is going to be salami. Then I’ll make a mushroom (sliced button mushrooms cooked low and slow with butter) and finally a broccoli / spinach (steamed broccoli, sautéed spinach in olive oil and garlic).
We’ll eat before the game, then maybe popcorn at halftime.
At the end of the game, champagne!
