Jets requested permission to interview Rams' DC Brandon Staley for their HC job, per source. Rams have playoff game Saturday, so his interview is not allow to occur before then.

i’d like to see him stay a couple more years. building a great defense. not just over one year. but over several years could be just as legitimate a goal as becoming a head coach. especially if you’re going into an organization where you aren’t being set up for success. belichick with the giants.

staley has plenty of time for other head coaching opportunities. but maybe he feels he’s ready. maybe he is.

I would go practice interviewing with the Jets, but that’s all. No way would I take that job.

Staley is young, and he will get chances again next year. I wouldn’t sign with a dysfunctional franchise.

San Diego I would maybe kick the tires on.

yeah. unless a really good opportunity comes up, why take a hc gig just to take it? he can continue working on his craft as a defensive coordinator. and if he can’t sustain success as a defensive coordinator, why would he think he can sustain success as a head coach? he won’t even turn 40 until end of 2022…

these kids… they just want it all… hahahaha!
