vI agree. The fans like Mike Franke and all of the Ram and football fans I read/met/conversed with from St Louis made the Rams leaving LA in 1994/1995 palatable for me. but, they all need to deal with this tragic event in their own way. Mike invested a lot of himself each season in the Rams. Interacting with the Rams fans from St Louis was the best thing about the Rams moving to St Louis. I was heart broken and disgusted when the LA to St Louis move happened as I’m sure many of the St Louis fans are today. The fans have little or no control over the level of greed that truly defines the NFL and all pro sports. There is little or no loyalty by any of them – owners, coaches, and players to anything other than profit.

Yup. That’s basically what Carey Davis said in a podcast
on espn.w

ParticipantSorry to pretty much repeat the same thing I just posted at Rampagers:
I’ve got nothing but relentless negativity that would not be good for this or any other list or forum.
This team and this league have proven utterly unworthy of anyone’s support, in St. Louis or otherwise.
As for me, my fall weekends are going to be a lot different from now on.To me, city and team are inseparable. I became a Rams fan in the name of proving that St. Louis was a good football town.
You know what? I was right.–Mike

Yeah. You are right. St. Louis deserves better.
I am sorry for all this.
I never spoke up in all the years, and since this is my last chance, I want to tell you that I always looked forward to your reports. Your insight was brilliant, and I loved your use of language and writing style. I will greatly miss you.
Thank you for making the Rams ride as entertaining as it was.

Well you will be missed. Thanks for the years worth of this. Remember the old zine? Back then, I was posting your reports in the zine. This goes that far back. We had some debates over the years but they were always cordial and respectful. You were an indelible part of the online St. Louis Rams experience. Plus, cool avatar.
May you always have fair winds and following seas.

ModeratorMike knows football and he conveys that knowledge with wit and a clever flair. I will miss his post game analysis which was usually much better than the game itself.

ParticipantI really enjoyed your reviews, always a good read.
You consistently came up with a humorous comment, week after week, that made me chuckle, such as this line from the final 49ers game this year – “Also, they weirdly commented after halftime that they thought there would be more offense. These were the worst two offenses in the league! 16-10 at halftime is a shootout for these two!”
Being a Rams fan hasn’t been rosy for a long time, but that little bit of humor made it a little easier.
Thanks.

I’m sad to see you go Mike. You were a bright spot in all 16 games this year and that includes 9 losses.I have a suggestion and
only that but if and when you are ready. How about reporting on this asshole super rich owners class using your super power plus channeling the negativity into something useful ? Just a thought. Thanks for making those dreaded post loss periods a little better!January 16, 2016 at 8:33 am #37413lyser
