AgamemnonParticipantSnead said of Mannion. “For someone who is lacking in the mobility department, he gets the ball out quick, he knows where to go with it. So that’s the things you like in a QB — (he’s) tall, can see and (he’s) got the arm.
“We’re definitely expecting him to come in next year along with Case (Keenum) and Nick (Foles) and anybody else that we may add — whether they are at the Senior Bowl or on another team’s roster right now — and let them compete. … If I learned one thing last year, we should have let the quarterbacks have a competition from the start and the best man win instead of just passing the torch to Nick.”

Snead also said the team’s receiving corps didn’t do enough to help the quarterbacks out either.
“We had a chance to win four straight at the end of the year. Every wide receiver that dressed out dropped one ball that day. You can’t have that,” Snead said.
Les Snead: Rams will have open QB competition in 2016
St. Louis Rams general manager Les Snead, the onus is on the NFL to adjust to what the college game is producing, at least at the quarterback position.
“It’s doomsday if we don’t adapt and evolve,” Snead said, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Snead also defended Foles and the play of the team’s other quarterbacks by pointing to mitigating factors. One of them was having a first-time offensive coordinator, Frank Cignetti Jr., who was fired before the season ended. Another was disappointing play from the Rams’ receiving corps.
In particular, Snead cited the Rams’ 19-16 loss at San Francisco in the season finale.
“We had a chance to win four straight at the end of the year. Every wide receiver that dressed out dropped one ball that day. You can’t have that,” said Snead, whose team will have a new wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator next season in Mike Groh.
“I think Nick’s season would have been better and coach Cignetti’s season would have been better and even Case’s last game would have been better had those guys stepped up.”

AgamemnonParticipantThis is a good year to add a QB. This is a good year to add WRs and you can find help at TE. imo
CHRIS SWAIN, NAVY, he is listed as a FB. He would be a good player to add to the RB mix. imo How about Braxton Miller? Another ex QB, he could make a good WR. imo

From what I read, though, you can’t count on a rookie starter from this year’s crop. Which btw is fine. Let them have 4 qbs. (Keenum, Foles [hoping to recover his game], Mannion, Rookie To Be Named Later). Though that’s not serious…it will be 3. Reports we’re getting say that Mannion and Foles will compete for a roster spot.

I agree. The QBs being the closest to starting are Cook and Hackenberg. imo I think Mannion should be ready to start. I think he is just that much better than Foles or Keenum or any first year rookie. Although it might be even money that a QB we draft will eventually beat out Mannion.
