    not including tomorrow night’s game.

rams defense now ranks 4th in total defense on a per game average. 14th in rushing yards per game and 2nd in passing yards per game.

quite frankly i’m astonished. they’re also tied for first in the league in sacks (pittsburgh has a game in hand). they’re also first in ypa allowed. and they are 3rd in passer rating allowed. wow. just wow. they are better than i thought they were. although their tackling could be better. still a lot of the season left to play. and i still think they have the ability to get better.

rams offense now ranks 5th in total offense on a per game average. 7th in rushing yards per game and 13th in passing yards per game.

about what i expected. goff is now the league leader in ypa at 9.03 ypa – just edging out josh allen who sits at 8.96 ypa. that’s just tremendous. they’re not as explosive as they were in years past. but they seem so much more efficient – especially goff. i mean leading the league in ypa without having a lot of explosive plays. that just cries out efficient to me.

i don’t know if they can maintain these numbers. the caliber of teams they face going forward will get harder. but shoot it’s good to see.

Plus in 5 games they’ve allowed just 1 TD in the 2nd half.

    I especially like this comment:

Well, the Rams put their money into the secondary. This isn’t the 70s. It’s a passing league. They bought some great secondary players, and compromised on LBs. That could be why we see so many long runs (7-12 yds). The LBs are young, though, and may learn to take better angles over the season.

In any event, the most vital statistic has been, and always will be, the scoreboard.
