The Rams drafted by Snead who are still on the team:

P.S. I put asterisks next to the guys who I thought are solid contributors. Donald gets All-Star marks–of course.

    Greg Zuerlein *

    Tavon Austin

    Alec Ogeltree *

    T.J. Mcdonald *

    Greg Robinson

    Aaron Donald **

    Lamarcus Joyner

    Maurice Alexander

    E.J. Gaines

    Demetrius Rhaney

    Todd Gurley

    Rob Havenstein

    Jamon Brown

    Sean Mannion

    Andrew Donnal

    Cody Wichman

    Bryce Hager

    Jared Goff

    Tyler Higbee

    Pharoh Cooper

    Temarrick Hemmingway

    Josh Forrest

    Mike Thomas

I’m trying to think of a significant free agent the Rams signed over the last few years.

Barron was a trade so I’ll give them Barron. *

I’m just trying to consider where this roster came from–the hits and misses. Not everyone without an asterisk is a “miss” by the way. It may be too early(Goff) or there may be some inconsistency(Austin)but I am just considering solid starters.

I think free agency will very important this year considering lack of draft choices.

i think it’s too early to give definite marks on guys like gurley, goff, and the offensive linemen.

free agency is important, but the team will be handcuffed until 2018. it’s important that they develop the talent they currently have. some of the linemen i feel have talent. gurley and goff i think still have tons of potential.

I think they stopped doing big splash free agency.

A long list of misses and bad luck there combined, ie. expensive bad luck. Thinking of Finnegan, Long, Wells, Cook.

They do better with mid-range signings (Fairley, Hayes, Britt).

They look like they have cap space BUT they have a boatload of their own FAs to sign, including saving room for Donald (ie. if you sign a guy now he takes money from future caps too).

Things may change but that’s where it stands right now I think. I think they’ve walked away from big-market FA signings.

One minor quibble…you don’t have an asterisk next to Joyner but he’s regarded as one of the better nickle corners in the league.

    That’s fair.

I think the Rams did a B job on drafting. I don’t know how much credit belongs to Fisher vs Snead. I do think Snead gets an A for his deal making. They did not always take the guy I wanted, but I thought they reasonable choices. Where I think they fell down was trading up into the top half of the 1st round. That is anathema for me. Whoever did that, needs to go. imo

that to me is huge. we don’t know. how much of the grob and austin picks were fisher and how much were snead? but conversely how much credit does fisher get for picking donald and how much does snead get?

i would trust snead more in picking a coach than i would demoff.

We know that Fisher thinks the talent on this team is OK. He says so in this video.

At 14 seconds, this team is too talented……………
