I was wondering if we should give him some exposure with the first team offense. Lets say in the third quarter, and play him in the fourth game with some reps. In the fourth preseason game we sit Goff. If Mannion plays real well, makes me wonder in those games, makes me wonder if teams may want to try and trade for him, say Jacksonville, or San Fransisco, and giving up a ton for him. Say one of them gives up two first rounders and two second rounders, in the next two drafts, plus a future third rounder. Just a thought. What do you think?

Mannion may have value but right now I’d say he’s more valuable as a back-up then he is as a future fifth round pick. Kaepernik is sitting out there. If a team is desperate they will sign him.

I think Mannion can be a solid back-up and potential starter. For a big guy he moves fantastic in the pocket. There’s a lot to like about him. I would not trade him this year. Perhaps in a year or two if he establishes a good value and we’re sold on Goff, But not now.

if a team was willing to give up that much for mannion, i’d jump on that. i’m just not sure that a team would be willing to give up that much.
