We sometimes post very personal things here. There’s a sense of sharing and unburdening in it, because we know this community is rich with good people.
Carol succumbed to lung cancer yesterday.
The following is written to our family by my wonderful niece, Lauren.

Letting go with Love
Dearest friends and family, It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of our beautiful, strong and brave mother, Carol. Our mom’s spirit moved on at 3:35pm yesterday 6/24/25, surrounded by the hands and hearts of myself, Allanhyia and Michael. She was 55 years old. I already miss her so much. Your kindness has been overwhelming, and my mother experienced such quality of friendship these past eight months that I know she felt loved. I am grateful she is no longer in pain and has found rest for her body and mind. I imagine she’s found her spot in the eternal world, with her father, aunt, nephew, and past doggies making them an amazing meal and planning a trip to the next cool place. That she may never have to work another day in her life and that she has the most beautiful garden. Her spirit will always be with us. Thank you for being friends. May each of your words be a blessing, your heart a song, and your hands for healing. Love and light to you all, Lauren
