Perhaps less partying and more practice?
The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

But they sucked in St.Louis too for the past gazillion years.
So its gotta be more than pool-parties.
Plus we know teams win championships in LA so players
do seem to be able to cope with distractions in LA in general.w

vNot true. Not for the LA Rams in the Super Bowl era. They became the best in the NFL in St. Louis. Whatever dysfunction that lead to their premature downfall was leftover from LA. LA is toxic for NFL success.

How many LA Rams on the ’99 Rams? No Warner, no Faulk, no Holt, no Pace, no Hakim, no Wilkins so that is the lions share of the scoring except for Bruce who only played in LA in ’94, started no games, and only had 274 combined yards on his LA resume! Defense had a few but the GSOT teams were not known for their defense.
LA blows everything out of proportion, especially any success.

November 30, 2016 at 5:30 pm #59876znModeratorI don’t think a city is fair game for debate. That could go the wrong direction too easily.
November 30, 2016 at 6:57 pm #59882PancakeParticipantI guess never mind the fact the Rams worst years were not even in LA. Regardless of that small detail. Take a look at the roster during the years leading up to the move to St. Louis. TJ Rubley anyone? It wasn’t the location that catapulted the Rams in St. Louis. It was the roster stacked with future HOFers. I mean what your saying would mean that the GSOT wouldn’t have won if located in LA.
November 30, 2016 at 7:09 pm #59884ZooeyModeratorOh, brother.
I will bet a zillion dollars that the overall Won/Loss record of the LA Rams is better than the overall Won/Loss record of the St. Louis Rams. I absolutely guarantee it.
The zip code is not relevant.

If the conversation continues please prove me wrong about that. Thanks.

That is NOT in the spirit of constructive debate. I already addressed the LA Rams contribution on defense to the GSOT. I do not believe that defense was the only defense that could have won with the GSOT offense.

Can’t take that team defense for granted….
the final score of the NFC Championship was 11-5.
That defense was great.
#2 in total points allowed 1999.
#1 against the run
17 sacks for Kevin Carter.
The 2001 defense was ranked 6th and couldn’t win with the GSOT.

2 requests are hard to ignore.
I will instead, for the time being, close it, and move it to the Public House Forum.
If anyone wants us to re-open it, start a new thread on the Public House Forum, and make your case.
