I don’t see this as a playoff year. That does not have me “bummed” or any of that…it’s just not in the cards. They could get there, I s’pose, but if they do, to me it’s gravy. I see it as more of a “change the offensive scheme and OL” year, though that wasn’t the original plan. A stumbled-up OL changed the initial plan.

And also, a get the defense in a higher gear year. So it will be interesting to see how they fare against the league’s top 3 qbs.

Yeah, the Steelers game to me was the final nail in the coffin.

A playoff team cannot lose to Frisco at home with 4 days more preparation than they had, and cannot lose to the Steelers coming out of a bye.

    It’s not just the math.

It’s the performance. This is a team with loose sprockets.

I think they should draft some new sprockets, and get a damn wrench in the off season.

    Yeah I agree with Z and Z.

It shall be interesting to see whether the D has actually improved or not. They’ve played bad-QBs for a month now. Lets see what they do against real QBs.

My expectations are that they’ll do ‘ok’ but not shine.

I am still unable to process giving up 55 to the Bucs.

I don’t understand it. That game was gibberish to me, kinda like listening to Nittany Ram.

Defense just did not come to play that game. Weddle was yelling at them on the sideline at one point.

Well, setting aside the important topic of Nittany’s folderal and claptrap,
the Bucs are a weird team. They put up 34 on Seattle and 30 on the Cards, 31 on the Giants.
Granted, 55 is ridiculous. It was the defensive equivalent of Gibberish.

    ========

The etymology of gibberish is uncertain. The term was first seen in English in the early 16th century. It is generally thought to be an onomatopoeia imitative of speech, similar to the words jabber (to talk rapidly) and gibber (to speak inarticulately).

Gibberish, alternatively jibber, jabber, jibber-jabber, or gobbledygook, is speech that is (or appears to be) nonsense. It may include speech sounds that are not actual words,[1] or language games and specialized jargon that seems nonsensical to outsiders.[2]

“Gibberish” is also used as an imprecation to denigrate or tar ideas or opinions the user disagrees with or finds irksome, a rough equivalent of “nonsense”, “folderol”, or “claptrap”. The implication is that the criticized expression or proposition lacks substance or congruence, as opposed to simply being a differing view.

The related word jibber-jabber refers to rapid talk that is difficult to understand.[3]
