@RamsNFL and @Colts Rams really didn’t run all the pre snap motion etc that they ran in prior years.

    from https://theramswire.usatoday.com/2021/09/15/rams-brian-allen-sean-mcvay-week-1-performance/?taid=6143782aad296e0001f9252a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter

McVay loved the way Allen played and believes he’s only going to keep getting better as the season goes on.

“I loved it. He’s another guy, you talk about great stories that just make you so happy for guys,” he said. “You look at the way that he has consistently just demonstrated a resilient mindset and mentality as he’s recovered from what was a really tough knee injury against Pittsburgh a handful of years ago, or a couple of years ago. He just had belief, he just continued to grind at it. He played really well, he got a game ball. I just think his rapport with Matthew (Stafford), his competitiveness, his physicality, and then also, his poised, calm demeanor as he’s getting the calls communicated and recognizing a variety of things where we didn’t really have an inventory, didn’t know what to expect. I thought he was great. He’s only going to get better, but he got a game ball for us yesterday. He’s one of those feel-good stories that you love so much about working with people like him. I want to continue to see him do what he’s done and build off of that, but really pleased with Brian. Really happy for him.”

Aaron Donald said he has new gloves and has been working on his grip to avoid missing sack opportunities against Colts. This will be Donald’s first game against Indy. He had just ended holdout before ’17 opener and did not play.

Sean McVay was asked Friday if there’s a player Ramsey compares to, and he had a tough time thinking of one because of how special the Rams DB is.

“I think he’s kind of one-of-one,” McVay said. “I think that he can make an influence where you’re saying, ‘Who are these premier shutdown corners on the outside?’ He can do that. And then, ‘Who are these guys that can bump inside and really affect and influence the game?’ I think about when I first started coaching the guys that were really the premier nickels or stars as we call it – you’re talking about the Ronde Barbers, the Antoine Winfields – but Jalen is so big and he’s so physical. We can utilize him where, if you look at last week, he has taken on offensive linemen and snapping them back pretty good and blowing plays up. If you just watched him the whole game, you’d say that guy is a unique, special talent that plays with great energy and passion every single snap.”

The NFL’s Next Gen Stats use tracking devices on every player’s shoulder pads to provide data beyond the ordinary statistics, and one piece of data from Sunday night was that Kupp had 11.3 yards of separation from the nearest defender on his 56-yard touchdown catch, the most separation on a completion more than 40 yards downfield in the last three seasons.

Bears safety Tashaun Gipson said it was just a mental screw-up by the Bears’ secondary that allowed Kupp to get that open. The Bears struggled to cover Kupp all day. He finished with a game-high seven catches and 108 yards.

with the RBs I would expect to start seeing Michel more in weeks 5, 6, 7, etc. Until then only if the Rams get into situations where they are running the ball much more because Henderson is not going to get 25+ carries.
