Here are all the Rams FAs in 2015. There’s a couple of priorities in there.

    Joseph Barksdale UFA
    Kenny Britt UFA
    Alex Carrington UFA
    Shaun Hill UFA
    Davin Joseph UFA
    Lance Kendricks UFA
    Mike Person UFA
    Austin Pettis UFA

    Tim Barnes RFA
    Austin Davis RFA
    Johnny Hekker RFA
    Rodney McLeod RFA

    Cory Harkey ERFA
    Case Keenum ERFA
    Chase Reynolds ERFA

Sadly, the punter is the best and brightest of the group.

I’d say Barksdale and Hekker and Davis are the three main priorities in that group.

Barksdale is UFA and could be expensive to keep.

    Plus:

    1. So far anyway, Boudreau coached OL have been selling at a premium rate.

    2. If they sign Boudreau to a nice 4 M or more a year deal, that makes it the 4th OL with that kind of deal (Long, Saffold, Wells). Can you really have 4 linemen with expensive deals? Now chances are Wells is gone…but then, can you really have THREE linemen with expensive deals? (The “three” is more of a judgement call…4 I think is too many.) And do you want to have 2 OTs on longterm contracts when you just used the 2nd pick of the draft on a 3rd?

    3. As good as any ROT may be as an individual player, ROTs are easier to replace than LOTs and more expendable. So it gets into this–do you want to spend money keeping a right OT? Given the way the market for ROTs works (ie. there’s always more of THEM than there are left OTs).

I obviously have no idea what the Rams are thinking. Just thinking out loud about different aspects of it.

I am not enamored with Boudreau’s OL. They don’t seem to keep our QBs off the injured list.
