* how much do you hold Fisher responsible for the Keenum concussion incident? Or what’s your take on that?
* as for the team and its record, is Fisher now in danger of losing his job?
* who should start at qb? Keenum, Foles, Mannion?

November 24, 2015 at 9:57 am #34635PA RamParticipantI just find it very hard to believe that Fisher was so unaware of Keenum’s concussion–but who knows.
I don’t think Fisher is in any danger of losing his job right now. Under normal conditions, maybe. But Kroenke has other things on his mind besides the state of the team right now. Fisher will be safe for at least one more year.
If Keenum can play I’d stick with him at least one more week. If he can’t go–I’d throw Mannion out there. Foles may give them a better chance to win–but he hasn’t proven it lately–but let’s see what Mannion has. It would be great to evaluate him in some real games and see how he holds up. This team has to know the state of the position going forward. Because right now–it isn’t solved. But I’m not sure any QB can thrive in this offense behind this line.

November 24, 2015 at 10:05 am #34636PA RamParticipantAnd while I’m at it…IF Fisher is replaced I’d consider Brian Billick.
He has a winning NFL record 85-67, has won a Superbowl and made the playoffs numerous times. 5-3 in the playoffs.
He has a good offensive mind. When he was OC of the Vikes in 1998 they set an NFL record for most points in a season.
So there you go–I’m on record. Hire Billick.

‘Well, the current state of the o-line is why I wouldn’t play Mannion. I don’t want to subject my inexperienced rookie to that punishment. I’d wait to play him until I thought he had a decent chance to succeed.
I think I’d start Foles. Let’s see if the benching refocused him. Give him a chance to salvage his career.

That makes sense, of course.
But the way that line is playing Mannion may have no choice than to get out there. If Keenum can’t go Mannion will be back-up this week. So one way or the other–I wouldn’t be shocked to see him take the field but I thought about that and I get the o-line argument. I just can’t stand watching Foles anymore.

(not personal but) I find it hard to believe people actually think that.
What is there to gain from ignoring a concussion to the qb in the final minute of a game?
This particular accusation has me baffled. Think about what that is saying. I wouldn’t accuse a coach I personally hated with all my heart of that.

Well, he couldn’t KNOW Case had a concussion, I guess–because a medical person would determine that. But Foles knew something was wrong–and the coach didn’t? The trainer was out there and at the very least they could have taken a timeout to make certain of the situation. That’s on Fisher.

November 24, 2015 at 12:15 pm #34646Eternal RamnationParticipantFisher is generally in a mess these days. I don’t believe him because he has been disingenuous so many times but I can believe he was unaware of Keenum’s injury because he has been unaware of so much lately.

On Keenum concussion, I was listening to game live on the Ravens radio broadcast. Ravens broadcast team only said that Case was slow to get up…. but when I re-watched the game, it was clear that the ref should’ve stopped the boxing match or at least give Case a standing 8 count. Case was a rag doll…. If refs didn’t see it, and Ravens radio team didn’t notice it live, then I can’t blame Fisher.
Fisher losing his job…. Kronke stayed with coach George Karl forever with the Denver Nuggets before finally canning him… I think he shows patience with Fisher, especially if the Rams move to LA, based on Fisher experience with a move from Houston to Tenn.
As far as starting this Sunday Can Jeff Garcia suit up????????… I think I’d go with Foles… Case has a concussion and he did very little to impress anyone in Baltimore.. he FUCKING SUCKED the entire 3rd quarter last week…. Mannion threw a lot of picks in college and with the holes in the offensive line it’s not a good a idea to put a rookie back there this week… it’s slim, but there is still hope this season, the NFC 2nd tier teams are pretty weak.
November 28, 2015 at 4:39 pm #34802znModeratorI figure Fisher will be back but maybe they have to sacrifice a coach. If they take a ritual sacrifice, it won’t be Wms.
Rams have too much else going on to add a head coach search to it. Loads of free agents, a crucial draft, possibly moving or being lame duck another year, and so on.
Plus if you look at his other teams, SK has a tendency to stand behind a veteran coach for a while.
Will that all be worth it for fans? If he turns it around, sure. But then different folks have different opinions about whether he can do that.
I happen to think he can but then unless/until they start winning, it’s difficult to make that case.
