That’s 20 years obviously; I stop at 2013 so there’s some chance to judge them. Guys picked low in 14 and 15 would be too soon to judge.

In that period, 145 qbs were drafted.

There’s only a handful of consistent, regular starters.

    1 is great (Brady, 2000).

I think 2 were good to very good: Hasselbeck (98), Bulger (2000).

Too soon for me to really say yet on Cousins (2012).

There’s also more iffy, up and down starters: Frerotte (94), Aaron Brooks (99), David Garrard (2002), Ryan Fitz (2005), and Cassel (2005).

If we count all 9 of those guys, that’s a hit rate of 6.2%. 1 out of every 17.

Interestingly, 3 of the 9 played for the Rams at one point or another: Bulger, Frerotte, Fitzpatrick.

Trent Green: 1993 / Round: 8 / Pick: 222. I know that is before you started, but I had to throw him in. 😉

And then there is a guy like Tony Romo who wasn’t drafted at all.

Yeah, though, unfortunately, it’s hard to do the numbers on UDFAs like Warner or Romo, because while you can trace out how many made it and started in the league, you can never name the entire field of them so you can’t do the percentages on it. What percentage of UDFA qbs made it? Don’t know, there’s no mechanism to count all the ones who signed so you can’t do a percentage.

    Or Delhomme.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

I dont know what the hit rates are
for the other positions (rounds 4-7)
but it might not be much better
    for some positions.
