I saw this happen to John Robinson one year in an opener against the Eagles that was in Philly. The team came out totally flat and played like crap.

I think we will see a much better effort from the Rams in Tampa and I think they will win.

If Hill is healthy and can play I believe the Rams will win.

    If he isn’t…

    I’d take Tampa.

I believe the Rams will go into Tampa VERY angry–and they also do not have to deal with Adrian Peterson. Doug Martin was shut down yesterday by the Panthers. Yes–Evans and Jackson are challenging but with less of a run threat than the Vikes, I can see the defense able to pin their ears back and go. I know there will be more of the quick screens and so forth, but this is a MUST win game.

But, as I said–if they are stuck with Davis, they will need a giant ground and pound effort to win this game.

Not sure how you equate they need a giant ground game for just Davis. They need a ground game period. Which they did not really have on Sunday against the Vikes. Davis has shown he can manage an offense. Not sure why you are so down on him.

GRITS, when Davis throws the ball it looks like he tossed a feather in the air—he has a very weak arm. His pocket awareness is non-existent. For all his mobility it looked like his feet were in cement.

Say what you want about Hill–he can throw the ball better than Davis.

Neither QB was playing behind a decent line yesterday but Davis looked clueless.

As for the running game–I agree they HAVE to do that. I write about that repeatedly.

But I have so little confidence in Davis to make any throw. My point is that the running game is even MORE important.

I know you like Davis–and I know he had some pre season moments against second and third stringers–but he didn’t look to me like he could manage much yesterday.

I have a very different take on the Minn game than most.

First, I think they were fine with Hill, except for miscues and mistakes (Stacy’s drop, Quick’s penalty, and so on). That was a tough close game until Hill went out. No team wins game 1 if they are playing their 3rd qb, no matter who it is.

This team has annual meltdowns and inexplicable losses. The Jets and Patz in 2012, the SF and Dallas games in 2013. It ALSO balances it out with tough unexpected wins. Both SF games in 2012 (though 1 of those was a tie of course), the Saints and Colts games in 2013.

I don’t see the Minn loss as anything that unusual, once you factor in playing your 3rd qb.

The Tampa game ought to go as scheduled. They’ve already beaten Tampa, and that was with Clemens. If Hill plays they ought to beat Tampa again.

If Davis plays, who knows. It would be a rough game and then many people will blame the coordinator and coach and GM for that…even though (IMO) I have no idea who would win a game starting their 3rd qb in week 2.

Well, its going to be Davis and PA Rams Davis throughs the ball very well and well enough to have broken all the school records of one Brett Farve. Lets give the kid a chance.

BTW, Hill is a long shot to play according to what Rambill just posted so lets get behind the kid and hope he plays well enough to seize the job.
