At what point this season do the Rams redshirt Goff the entire season, no matter what?
If the Rams get through game 12, and are in the playoff picture, would they switch to Goff if they though he was ready? I don’t know. I don’t think so. I have to think it’s by mid-season. Game 8 or 9, or we don’t see him unless Keenum gets injured.

I think Fisher’s plan was to keep him on the bench the entire season if he could. So as long as Keenum is playing well Goff will sit IMO.

Thats reasonable. $tanK can’t pass up playoff revenue.
The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.
Sprinkles are for winners.

And I think I’m okay with that (as much as I am looking forward to a stronger, more accurate arm). Keenum’s misses and floats are disappointing, but he IS adequate. Barely, maybe. But he is adequate. I would like to see Goff get some garbage duty, though the way the Rams play, there may be no garbage time the entire year. Close, low-scoring games.
Bring on Buffalo. I can’t wait. I am going with my son, and sitting in 93 degree direct sun all day with no shade anywhere (and apparently no water).

After the game, I said Case Keenum was what a really good Austin Davis would look like because he’s a gamer with limited ability. But he’s smarter than Davis. So I’m gonna revise my comparison. Case Keenum is a more mobile, grittier version of Pat Haden.

I don’t disagree, but he also kinda reminds me of the Jeff Garcia type. Not saying that’s good or bad, just what I think of when I watch him.

I agree with you. He is like Garcia although I think Garcia was a little better than Keenum is now.

October 3, 2016 at 2:37 pm #54404wvParticipantInteresting comparisons. Jeff Garcia, Pat Haden, Austin Davis.
He’s definitely a competitor. He did a lot of good things yesterday
without a running game.I thought his best throw was that beauty that Tavon dropped.
And yes, i’d call that a drop. Quick dropped a really nice pass too.I dont think we’ve seen the best of Keenum yet. This offense is still
a bit clunk-i-ty. Not quite in sync yet.The Bills are coming to town. Who the hell are the Buffalo Bills?
I dont even know who their best players are.w
vOctober 3, 2016 at 4:08 pm #54411ZooeyModeratorI thought Keenum’s runs were studly. He didn’t even slide. He played with some grit there, and I think a QB needs to do that once in a while – not every game – but a QB that goes for it once in a while has to fire up his team, I would think. And he wasn’t reckless. He was in control, and avoided real hits. I liked those two runs he made.
I don’t think he is quite Garcia, but he is in that ballpark, I think. Haden is a good comparison. He is better than Davis, but I get the comparison there.
I will take Keenum, and know that once or twice a game, I am going to have a “What the F was that?” throw to watch. As long as they don’t hit a wide open defender, I will live with it. He hits Britt and Kendricks with good throws enough to move the chains. I’d like to see more of Higbee, and we all want to see Spruce.
October 3, 2016 at 4:41 pm #54413InvaderRamModeratorif the rams are playing well and keenum is playing well yeah keep it like it is. except in the case of a blowout or something and you could give goff a series or two to get his toes wet.
October 3, 2016 at 6:54 pm #54435OzonerangerParticipantI grudgingly admit Keenum has smarts and moxie. But he has a high school arm. It’s the sole reason opponents are playing run first. He had a couple of throws yesterday that, had they been in stride (the one to Tavon was maddening) could have gone for long scores. The surprising ability of the receivers to get open- wide open- has saved his skin, and the Rams.
My crystal ball says Fisher stays with Keenum until he has a meltdown half. Insert Goff and see how he does under duress.

Garcia could throw a hard out. And a zip through the end zone. Keenum throws a five yard dunk with a high arc.

Yep. Garcia had a better arm, but almost everyone does over Keenum. I’m referencing the grit, that tough hombre kind of attitude. Th little kid on the playground that keeps fighting against the big boys after he’s been knocked down a dozen times. Keenum’s a scrapper. I wish he were better at everything. But I like his guts.
October 3, 2016 at 11:39 pm #54451InvaderRamModeratoryeah. ya gotta love his guts. not only does it result in plays, but it probably gets his teammates psyched up. good leadership qualities.
