It seems that they weren’t overbooked. United just wanted the seats for their employees.

I think he should have to pay for the damage he did
by beligerently smashing his face into the armrest.

Regardless, the only thing he was guilty of on that plane was not wanting to give up a seat he paid for. I know airlines reserve the right to unseat any passenger they see fit, but all this could have been avoided if they just offered more money after they asked for volunteers to give up their seats and didn’t get any takers. Somebody would have eventually given up their seat. No matter how much it cost it would have been much less than this little episode will cost them.

oh i don’t have sympathy for either side.

this is one glorious example of why i hate humanity.

    both sides are unforgivable really.

I’m tired of these stories already. I want to hear about passengers being dragged ON to a plane.

But they have to be americans in american airports. Not saudi dissidents being sent back. We know about that one.

You say you want more passengers thrown off planes. OK 😉

And once again its the little phone-camera that sets off the storm. Just like with Rodney King and a gazillion other instances.

If people didnt have little phone-video cameras a lot of stuff would not
    get reported.

Thus, i predict the powers that be will write laws saying we are not
allowed to make videos of anything other than funny cat vids.

I wonder if people get throwed off trains and boats?
