As we all know the line needs to cohere. But last year, surprisingly, they were not that bad in sack percentage (you want to look at sack percentage because it evens out the issue of how much did they throw). Last year the Rams allowed a sack percentage of 4% with Foles and 3.1% with Keenum.
Just for perspective, across 16 games, 4% would have been ranked 4th, and 3.1% would have been ranked 1st. As it stands, in 16 games with both qbs, the offense was ranked 3rd in sack percentage, with 3.7%. That is better than every single playoff team.
So, the OL wasn’t that bad…even with OL injuries shaking things up in the middle of the season, and even with GR struggling for much of the season.
Where IMO they really need to improve is basic run blocking…Gurley and Tavon covered that up with a lot of long runs.
