December 13, 2014 at 2:21 am #13837bnwBlockedIs it too much to ask for stability at QB? The final game always in Seattle is getting old too. Time for some good breaks to go this teams way.

December 13, 2014 at 2:30 am #13774znhaterBlockedLooks like 7-9 again. Can’t get a break on the schedule can they?
December 14, 2014 at 10:56 am #13838wvParticipantWell, the last decade sucked alright.
But it does appear we are on the
cusp of some good years.
Looks like they are finally at a place
where one ‘good’ offseason could
fill all the holes.w

vI agree that the team is reaching a higher level. Even with the last game. I mean people are bitterly disappointed that they did not defeat the team with the best record in football, which means they EXPECTED the Rams to beat the team with the best record in football. That tells me that the expectations bar has been raised…and rightly so.
We are moving from the era where people complain that they don’t have a winning record, to the era where they complain they can’t win playoff games, and maybe even the era where people complain that they can’t win back to back superbowls.
In terms of the schedule?
I think they can do this new schedule.
Home: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay
Away: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Green Bay, Minnesota, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Washington
If they are going to be as good as we expect, then:
* they ought to win the games they ought to win (Chicago and Tampa at home, Minn. and Washington on the road)
* they ought to sweep at least one division opponent. I mean they’ve done it before! they were 4-1-1 against the division in 2012. They beat Seattle and SF once each THIS year, and this year was the crazy up and down year.
* they ought to beat some division leaders or at least division contenders. Heck they beat Denver in 2014, and New Orleans and Indy in 2013. In 2015, that includes Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, and the Bengals.
The one REALLY tough game they face IMO is Green Bay in Green Bay.

I agree with all that.
I dont have any doubt
Snisher, GW and BS can build a playoff team.
The next two years will bring playoff games. Not sure they can win a Ring, though.
But playoffs? — sure.w
vDecember 14, 2014 at 5:23 pm #13884nittany ramModeratorI highlight particularly tough (as it looks now) away games:
Home: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay
Away: Arizona, San Francisco, Seattle, Green Bay, Minnesota, Baltimore, Cincinnati, Washington
I think I would highlight all those away games except Washington. All those teams would be favored at home against the Rams anyway.
December 14, 2014 at 7:28 pm #13887RamsMaineiacKeymasterTechnically, couldn’t the Rams still finish ahead of the 49ers and thus alter their 2 games determined by place? (Washington, Tampa Bay would flip to Giants & Falcons likely)

If Harbaugh leaves you can expect a sweep. As for the Cardinals as long as Bradford plays and the line is healthy I expect them to beat them.

I am not so sure about that.
While I am loving watching the 49ers implode, I am not so sure that they are worse off without Harbaugh. He’s a good coach, but right now, he is a controversial coach, and his continued presence in the locker room there is probably moderately destructive.
The potential replacements might be better. There are a couple of guys on the 9ers staff that are highly regarded, and who actually might be better for that team than Harbaugh. So be careful what you wish for.
December 29, 2014 at 3:56 am #14881MackeyserModeratorThat away schedule is freaking obscene…
I’m getting tired of this. Seriously… when are we gonna get one of those “top 5 easiest schedules”…or even relatively easy schedules?
*shakes head*
Just obnoxious…

December 30, 2014 at 12:50 pm #15019Isiah58ParticipantWell, there is a 1 in 6 chance that it will happen next year. The last game is a division game, so there is only six possibilities. One of those six is Seahawks @ Rams. But it doesn’t really matter, does it? You have to play every division opponent twice, and a game in October means exactly the same as a game in Week 17. What’s the big deal about playing in Seattle in Week 17?
