Les Snead with Adam Schien this morning

Just heard them on mad dog radio.

Snead said the trade would have happened regardless of Bradford taking a cut. The trade was all about Foles, they didn’t want all the picks that they were offered (got a bunch of them from the Combine on) without getting a QB they can win now with. And they were offered a lot of picks by several teams. But none of those team had a QB they liked.

Asked about what they like about Foles, Snead said.
    experience with winning games
    stability at the position
    they like tall QBs
    and Foles is deceptively mobile

Odds are extremely low that they take a QB in the first round. they believe in Foles. Will consider a QB in the later rounds based on value.

We got more WRs than OL. WRs are young and showing improvement, considering they have been handicapped by instability at QB. Said we only have 2 OL right now, need to address that in the draft.

On Fairley. Snead said both sides felt it was a perfect fit to shine. This supports the belief that players want to come to STL.

Schein is a big Foles fan and thinks the Rams are very close. Snead would not make a prediction on the season but said they have what it takes to excel right now with talent and coaching (made some Parcells references about groceries and chefs), He said its all about stability and consistency.

Schien said Bradford has been holding the team back the past 2 years, and expects Foles to make a huge difference. He said he got into an argument with Phil Simms last week about Bradford. Just doesn’t believe in him at all.

Snead indirectly agreed with Schien on Bradford. He kept talking about stability and how much it has held the Rams back.
