    Laram on C.Kaepernik

    —————————————-
I want him as the Rams qb next season moving forward.

I’m watching some tape of him from 2012 slicing up the Cheatriots for 4 TD’s through the air in a driving rain.

The accuracy he is demonstrating in these weather conditions is awe inspiring.

You won’t get that from looking at stats, you have to see the game.

Watching some of his games I can certainly see why Jaws went out on a limb.

The guy showed tremendous game breaking talent.

Then I get to his 2014 tape and I start to notice in the last few games a change in his play.

Not threatening the defense as much, staying more stationary and shortening the field for himself.

It appears to me that he’s being coached to become more of a pocket passer, reading and reacting to the defense instead of forcing the reaction.

We then hear about him working with Kurt on his mechanics and pocket presence.

What I didn’t realize was his lifetime comp% is actually higher than some qb’s that are considered “accurate” in the NFL.

I’ve written this before, but I would tailor the offense to his strengths and allow him to play more freely.

He has only played what amounts to 3.5 seasons in the NFL. He is still very young at the position.

I wouldn’t force him to try and be something he’s not until he’s ready…if he ever is.

IMO its not important that he become a quote un quote “conventional qb”.

IF he remains a 60% passer who also accumulates 300-500 yards rushing, you can be very successful with that!

So give me either Adam Gase or Rob Chudzsinski and Colin Kaepernick at qb, and…..

I’ll take mines, and beat yourns!! cool smiley

I always liked Kaepernik. He would be better than Foles. Do we have anybody who can catch his fast balls?

I think you are confused about this whole
football thing — it is important
    NOT to like 49ers.

Think of them as big ugly Sperm
    whales who attack innocent
    defenseless Squids.

    sure. why not?

at the very least that running game with gurley, austin, and kaepernick would be confusing to defend i’d imagine.

Agreed. I say bring in Kap. Bring in everybody. We have nothing to lose at the QB position.

I’m not sure Kirk Cousins would be as effective everywhere as he’s been in DC most of this season and I doubt they let him go anyway, but how about RGIII? Yeah I know he lost the lockerroom and he’s said to be a primadona but they said the same thing about Kaepernick. Too much potential not to at least take a look at him IMO.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

    Sprinkles are for winners.

    I don’t want CK.

As Cosell always says, sooner or later you have to drop back in the pocket and pass.

CK isn’t very good at that, and, there’s no reason to believe he will be any better at it this year.

The question I ask myself… is he better than what we have? Well, he’s certainly not worse.

The bar is extremely low for the QB position in St Louis. Anybody that can come in and make us better, even a little, at that position would be a help.

This team ranks last, or nearly last, in every passing category, and in most of the important categories on offense (excluding rushing). That starts with the QB.

I think every option should be on the table in regards to upgrading the QB position. Cuz right now, we stink.
