Newly-hired head coach Sean McVay wants to choose an offensive coordinator with a strong offensive line background to assist in rebuilding one of the worst O-lines in the NFL. Whoever is ultimately hired as OC will not be in charge of play-calling duties as McVay has already announced he plans to call the plays himself like Jay Gruden did when McVay worked as OC of the Redskins.
Kromer served as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears under then-HC Marc Trestman from 2013-2014. He was also suspended for six games in 2015 while working for the Bills due to an incident in which he allegedly assaulted a juvenile over the placement of beach chairs. Criminal charges against him were ultimately dropped but he was still suspended by the Bills organization without pay for “conduct detrimental to the team”.
