I have had the chance to talk with Bruce, Faulk, Jackie Slater, Eddie Kennison, Jim Hannifan, Mark Rypien, Chris Chandler and Kevin Greene…..

not over a beer, but on the sidelines, after games and golf tournaments.

pre 911, so after the game we could hangout with the players before they got on the bus and on the sideline. My high school buddy was the videographer for the Rams/ UCLA Larry Clerico. I helped Lawrence Phillips find his parent after a Raider game.

I remember seeing Eddie Kenison and he looked like a teenager and he was wearing sagging jeans and yucking it up with Tony Banks after they got pummeled by the Niners. He had his hat sideways and had that 90s gangsta look going. I was at the Raiders Rams game where the crowd was heckling Banks and he was going to confront the crowd and Vermeil literally grabbed him and yanked him back to the sidelines. A lady in the crowd flashed him her T@@Ts.

Marshall I have talked to maybe 5-6 times. All with my son. He really likes kids and appreciated my son was the only one wearing a Faulk jersey at the Century Golf tourney. Not the friendliest with adults, but did multiple pics with my son and signed his jersey every year and talked with him a lot. I probably have 10 items signed by him.

Greene…..that guy looked like he could play 2 games after the game. So amped up. would talk with you but always looking around while he was talking couldn’t stand still.

Rypin very serious on the field and at golf tournament. I saw him at a game and he was all by himself after the game. Looked really sad. I believe it was around the time he lost his son.

Craig Iron head Heyward. Scared the bejusus out of me. Absolutely huge. Like 5 foot 8 260 of solid muscle. Literally built like a gorilla. Huge. Again all by himself after games while Bruce Kennison other would talk and joke around. I was scared to even look at him, LOL.

I talked with Bruce circa 98. He was out with the “hammy issues” very nice but very serious. Posing for pictures and would answer your questions, but not too personal. My favorite Ram of all time.

Hannifan. I remember 1 thing. This guy is freekin old. He talked to me a long time. Family I think was from Sacramento. People always gathered around him listening to him which I thought said a lot.

Jerome Bettis was the nicest of the group. very personable with me and my son. I have a hat signed by Faulk and Bettis.

I stood in tunnel with Jerry Rice before a Rams Niner game when he was on crutches for his knee. I didnt say anything to him, but I thought about crushing his other knee.

Im lucky I have met a lot of Rams and Dodgers over the years. Steve Yeager let me try n his 81 World Series Ring. I asked him where the other one was, and felt stupid becuase he wasnt on the 88 team.

Kennison looked like he was going to be great his rookie year. Then he fell off the map until he resurrected his career in kc. To bad he didn’t keep it going through the gsot days.

I think he lost his confidence for some reason. We traded him for a second round pick, but it wasn’t to KC. My memory fails after that.

It was the saints. But he didn’t become really good until he went to KC. Which ironicly Vermeil was the coach and he got rid of him when with the rams.

I was at this game and saw this happen… my brother and I went to this game on the spur of the moment; we bought scalped tix and ended up squatting on some great seats…… …….behind the RAMS bench near Bern Brostek’s family from Hawaii….. I remember they told us he was going to retire….

late hit on Jeff George, (I think by Zgonina) was the turning point of that game. Jesse Hester had a huge drop late in the 3rd…..

it’s funny I can’t remember shit, but I can remember almost every event at almost every RAMS game I’ve attended or watched.

BTW the football stadium in Oakland is not a bad place to watch a game, but their fans are a bit crazy.
