I think he use to read the old Rams Huddle board. If you do read this board laram, I saw your comment about there being no Andrew Luck’s coming out in the next draft. Really? Your discounting Brett Hundley? Really? The guy is the favorite in the Heisman race and he’s probably one of the most atheletic QBs to come out of the college ranks in quite some time. Has a good head on his sholders to. Has a good pro arm as well.

I would love for the Rams to draft him. He’s everything RGIII is suppose to be and more. He can play the pocket game too. He’d fit right in with the Russell Wilsons and the Colin Kaepernicks of the NFL.

Andrew Luck is an elite player, Grits.
He may be the best player in the NFL.
Hundley would have to be amazing
to be in the same tier Luck is in.

I think it is possible there will be 4-5 QBs worth taking in the 1st round next year. They won’t all go in the top 15.

I can imagine this scenario, though I am just speculate-atizing.

Bring in the rookie, who’s the #2, and start Hill. Bradford is the #3 and then after a bit you assess. Or Bradford is on the PUP, Gilbert or Davis is the #3, you then have a chance to bring SB back and you assess THEN. The “assess” can go a lot of ways, from start Bradford to keep Bradford the #3 or he stays on IR etc. (lots of things could happen) and then see how things look after the season.

Hogan from Stanford is more like Luck, but I’m with you on Hundley. I doubt he’s the favorite for the Heisman since Mariota is in that Read Option at Oregon that will put up sick numbers and he’s almost as fast as Vick with not quite the arm.

Mariota is Vick, in other words. So, if you want to try again with Vick and YES, some teams DO. They would LOVE to have a Vick clone in light of what Seattle has been able to do with Wilson. I mean, can you imagine a Vick with better decision making on the Seahawks? F’n scary. So, he’s GOING to make GMs drool and likely win the Heisman over Hundley who will put up numbers, but not crazy numbers you’re going to see in that Read Option.

That said, while Hundley is improving his decision making (he did throw some bad INTs), there’s just no question that in this offense, he’s as set up as Wilson was with Seattle and has better tools. With limited reps and time in the system, a guy like Hundley could really blossom into a top tier QB under Schotty with this team.

Mariotta is also the consumate team player, a student of the game and, based on reporters quotes of the coaches, the kind of person who the coaches wish would date their daughters. Not exactly Vick in some important aspects.

He doesn’t get rattled. I think he’d do well in any offense. He will need some extra time to adjust to playing under center. He is also not as quick as Vick (escapability) although his straight line speed is pretty fast.

Good to see you back over here. Hundley may not be an Andrew Luck but he’s certainly right there with any other young QB you can name.
Everybody is creaming their shorts over Mariota but I’m am not convinced he’s better than Hundley. If the Rams get Hundley in the draft I’d be very happy with that.

Hundley has everything you want in the modern QB. He can run, has good footspeed, he’s tough, smart and has a good arm. Did I say he’s smart? Every listen to Brett in an interview? He’s very well spoken. I think he’s the best QB in the draft 2015.
