    Gurley’s Breakout Game Against ARI

Look at the run starting approx. at the :40 second mark.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNeklRzEbnI

Once he breaks through to the second level, AFTER it was blocked up well as designed (running through the alley created by LG Brown and C Barnes double teaming and walling off a DL to the left [[Barnes made a nice additional second level block on S Jefferson to really spring him]] and RG Saffold blocking his assignment to the right), but the most impressive part to me, was that he had the vision and presence of mind to see the closer converging DB flying in from the left side and suddenly swerve to the right, yet, doing several things simultaneously in terms of organizing his eyes, brain and feet while in mid-air, attending to the deeper DB converging from the right, instantly sticks his foot in the ground upon landing, plants hard and cuts back to the left away from the DB, gaining about another 40+ yards AFTER that cut.

Sometimes, you can see the God-given talent and running ability concentrated into just a split second, you don’t need to scout Gurley for years to see he is special. Just like you could see a several minute highlight clip of Willie Mays or Mickey Mantle in baseball, and Magic Johnson or Michael Jordan in basketball, and that is all it would take to roar off the screen that they were/are naturals.

i think matt waldman put it well. he said something about not just beating the first man but using his vision to think several moves ahead to beat the defenders at the next level. faulk has talked about that as well.

unreal vision. hopefully he can stay healthy.

Yes, that was a thing Faulk had. Gurley is a completely different back physically of course but he does have that kind of vision. I also like the initial acceleration which if anything is going to be even better this year, or so you would think.
