Justa thot.
Eli’s rookie year:
7 starts, team went 1-6, 95 completions on 197 attempts (48.2%), 1043 yds, 6 TDs, 9 INTs, 5.3 YPA, qb rating of 55.4
Goff’s rookie year:
7 starts, team went 07, 112 completions on 205 attempts (54.6%), 1089 yds, 5 TDs, 7 INTs, 5.3 YPA, qb rating of 63.6
Not saying that Eli’s rookie year guarantees anything for Goff or that Goff IS Eli etc. etc. etc. or any of the other things I obviously don’t mean.
I am saying 2 things. (1) A rookie year like that does not spell doom, you actually have to wait and see how the guy turns out; and, (2) Eli might be a nice measuring stick to compare Goff’s progress to this year and down the line.
Given that, Eli’s 2nd year:
16 starts, team went 11-5, 294 completions on 557 attempts (52.8%), 3762 yds, 24 TDs, 17 INTs, 6.8 YPA, qb rating of 75.9
