Game day Eats

So I have to drive my wife to LaGuardia for a 3PM flight. I’m shooting to get there by 1, meaning I should be home by 3ish.
My path home takes me right past Pepe’s Apizza in Danbury, CT. Since I have to fend for myself for a week, I’m planning on getting a large Mushroom – Sausage and a small White Clam Pie with hot cherry peppers and crispy bacon.
The clam pie is a real treat and has been a trademark of the chain (there are about 8 Pepe’s now, the original is in New Haven). The clams are freshly shucked right before being added to the pie.
Almost worth going over the Whitestone Bridge twice in the same day…
If the Rams win, I’ll have to continue this pattern. If they lose, it’s just dumb luck; not the pizza’s fault (I’d have to give it at least one or two tries to test the theory).

Sausage and mushroom, my favorite. I have hamburgers, vegetable soup, and almond crescent cookies.

Roast beef w/gravy and mashed potatoes with asparagus and roasted carrots and roasted onion.

I just happened to have cooked all that yesterday so…it’s here and that’s what I’ll have.

Sausage, mushrooms, roast beef and asparagus…. very nice…

I smoked ribs yesterday for today’s day game… I will grill the last of the summer zuchinni today…. …. I also still have half of a left over Burger King Whopper in the fridge from Friday night….not sure what I’m gonna do with that…..

Think of Linguini with white clam sauce, but instead of the pasta, you have a silky, crunchy smoky pizza crust. Then you throw bacon and hot cherry peppers on it. I just ate about 3/4’s of a small, and I am very happy.
