X, I just got off the phone with my sister who lives in Northern GA. She said she can’t go out of her house because of the smoke and said they may be ordered to evacuate.
She said if it came to that, could they stay with me. I said of course, but evacuating from GA to CT seems a bit extreme.
Anyway, I hope you and yours are OK.

We’re 8 inches behind on rain here in East TN and the fires are popping up everywhere. A few days ago the smoke had covered 6 counties and we got it for a day. Chattanooga south into GA is really dry, I think I heard 15 behind for rain. I wouldn’t worry too much about X since he has created a massive fire break around his house by belching his moonshine and then lighting it.

The upside to being a Rams fan is heartbreak.

I’m aware of the fires, but I don’t see a lot of smoke. I get a hint of smokey flavor when I walk my dog, but I think we’re high enough up and far enough over that it’s not an issue yet. The closest one, I think, is in Franklin, and that’s an hour and a half to the west.

If the smell sticks on your tongue change the dog’s food.

    Wow, bnw, that’s just nasty.

That is, if you are implying what I think you’re implying.

    Nicely done.

    All the moonshine counteracts it.

Sorry, bnw. I forgot you are also in the area. If it is any consolation, I’m sure the drought has NOTHING to do with any human induced carbon emissions. I mean, the whole idea is crazy, right?

Some people are claiming there are strange jets that have contrails that don’t dissipate, but instead form into weird structures that bind the moisture in the air.

Personally, I think that is nuts, but I’m not living somewhere where it hasn’t rained in 42 days…

You bet that idea is absolutely crazy. Droughts are a natural occurrence in this climate. This spring and summer had ample rainfall so much so that everything stayed green well into September. Currently we’re listed as a severe drought-

Right now the biggest problem is with livestock having to be fed hay since pastures are too dry. Small ponds are dry too as well as small streams. Hay isn’t available to buy so cattle is going to market at low prices. Reservoir levels are still fairly high.

Don’t know anything about contrails other than they show the direction of high level winds.
