Last year was a complete Offensive Cluster-Fuck.

    Oline was abysmal.
    Gurley was out to lunch.
    A rookie-confused-Air-Raid-QB.
    Mediocre weapons, TE’s, WRs.
And apparently a junior high offensive scheme, coaching.

    But they were healthy.

Theres REASONS that zooey became a 49er fan.

    Please.

There are reasons why Hitler became a murderous despot that were outside of his control too.

Yet neither deserve our pity nor our forgiveness.

Whoa now. Lets not go equating Zooey to Hitler.

Hitler never betrayed his own fanbase and turned into a 49er fan.

The Rams may have been the healthiest, but their fans were probably the sickest.

    Makes you wonder.

Maybe the cause of all those multiple times extremely a lot OL injuries over the years came from playing in the dome.

    Just a thought.

I often wondered if the turf of the Dome had a hand in the rash of injuries the Rams endured.

Then I would read stories talking about the turf they had and how great it was…so…IDK.

I would think, other teams players would get injuries while playing the good guys at the Dome….then, a direct correlation could be drawn I guess.

Martz complained about the hardness of the turf at the Ed. But the worst part about playing on the turf was the Staphylococcus infections.

Also, it was a Staph infection that killed Jack Snow who did color commentary for the Rams at the time and therefore was at the Ed a lot.

Joe Vitt had a Strep infection on his hand and Martz had a bout of life threatening endocarditis also from a Strep infection but those two events are probably unrelated to the Ed.

I was thinking that it was just a matter of constant repetition—that playing on that surface just made it a matter of time before being hurt. And it wasn’t the turf as much as what was under it. Solid concrete, very hard they say.

Though, mostly, that was linemen. I can’t say what the connection would be–what is it about the surface and playing OL that might do that?

But anyway these are the periods of RELATIVE health for the Rams offensive line since 2006, “relative health” being just 1 or 2 injuries, not simultaneous multiple injuries:

    2006: not
2007: way not, one of the worst ever
    2008: not
    2009: not
    2010: RELATIVELY HEALTHY all year
    2011: not
2012: not for the 1st 8 games, RELATIVELY HEALTHY for the last 8 games
2013: RELATIVELY HEALTHY most of the year, though there was a slaughter in the last 4 games
    2014: not
    2015: not…PLUS inexperienced
    2016: RELATIVELY HEALTHY all year
