The Rams rout the Colts, 46-9, in a season opener, coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff earn their first NFL wins, the defense dominates without Aaron Donald — who ended his holdout, and the offense shows reason for optimism going forward. Plus, two players sign contract extensions and The Times’ Gary Klein and Lindsey Thiry answer listener questions.

I hear two people who clearly aren’t invested in the Rams… that are still learning a lot about this team

They expect the Rams to be bad. Its clear in how the report on them. To me it sounds like they don’t know a ton about the Rams. I listened to the whole thing and afterwards I said hmmm that was a bad listen. They even made comments about Gurley and talked about how some don’t see what the big deal is with him because he hasn’t flashed since the Rams moved to LA. I get that take but I think its shallow. Why not talk about what McV plans are to get him going? Go get that story. They just aren’t invested yet

By the way I’m not talking about being a homer although some of that comes from being invested in your hometown team… the Rams don’t have that yet. I just think there was way too much personal banter (If I have to hear about Gary’s wife one more time) and not enough hard stuff and inside stuff regarding the Rams

    Just my take

well apparently gary didn’t even know donald was back at the rams facility until lindsey informed him. and she heard it from her boyfriend who saw it on the ticker watching college football. i don’t think they have any inside info to share to be honest.

i like them though. i think lindsey’s actually pretty funny. they’re coming from the perspective of an la fan who wasn’t around when the rams were here 23 years ago. so i understand why they would make that comment about gurley.
