Ok, so you have to draft one of them.  You have an expansion team and they are both the last two players on the board.  Marshall Faulk and Aaron Donald.  Both in their prime.

Yes, i know.  But, those are the rules.   Think of it as an honorary Jack P Miller question.

    Faulk or Donald.

    Sigh.  I dunno.

Its harder to find HOF DTs….and obviously either pick is perfect.   But, I’m gonna go with Marshall.   I dunno why.

    Donald.

My head just works that way. You don’t need one of the elite RBs of all time to field a good offense. Whereas adding Donald is a great start to building a good defense.

At RB, I would just settle for Dickerson.

aaron donald. much more valuable. especially in today’s game. i’d take him over any other position other than qb.

    I see I have ferreted-out a couple of Donald-Sniffers.  Donald-ites.

    Aaron Donald was a figurehead.

Seriously, I’m surprised you and zn are so decisive about this.  I could go either way.

Don’t argue with me about the Rams. I know the Rams better than anyone.

Faulk was okay until the thumb. That ruined his game. Later in Arizona he got his game back by wearing the glove.

    I’d draft Donald. No questgion.

Then package him with a dozen 1st round draft picks to trade for Chris Massey.

Massey fell apart in the years when the Rams had multiple and extensive OL injuries.

    For which I blame Massey.

Clearly he was not capable of rising above his circumstances. The geniuinely elite players raise the play of those around them.

I’d take Donald as well. But Faulk was amazing. Not so much in the playoffs, though. He seemed less effective in the postseason. Not sure why. Probably the D was even more focused on nullifying his game.

Another reason to take Donald: more likely to give you more years. Unless this is build-a-team for just one season, you’re likely to have Donald at his peak for longer.

Donald could wreck an offense with modest a modest stat line. Faulk couldn’t wreck a defense with a modest stat line.

(I’m not sure what that means, but it sounded pithy when it entered my head).
