This approach worked fine last year when the draft talent and the Rams needs matched. But this year it didn’t. The Rams didn’t make bad picks, but I think they could have better picks.
i think you’re thinking specifically edge rushers.
i woulda done the same. ebukam, sweat, and okoronkwo woulda been a good rotation i think.
i think they coulda gotten allen later.
i did like the noteboom pick. a lot. i understand what jake was saying about crosby being a little more versatile. i don’t see noteboom playing guard. but the potential for me woulda been too hard to pass up. i think he’s got a real chance to be able to play left tackle. and i don’t know that i’d pass that up in the third round.
i’m also not sure about franklin-myers. although i admit i haven’t seen these guys play.
but again. and maybe it’s just me being too narrowly focused. but i thought the rams had a chance to build a vicious front seven. maybe it still is. but josh sweat could have been a real find in the fourth round. instead he goes to a very strong philly team who – if things go right for the rams – will be the main obstacle to the rams getting to a superbowl.
