I liked the drive to start the 2nd half. đ
But then Stafford injured his thumb scoring on the 2 pointer, which basically sums up the kind of day it was…

October 29, 2023 at 4:27 pm #146503JackPMillerParticipantThere was nothing much you can take from this game. After this crushing defeat, makes me wonder if we are going to be sellers by the trade deadline? We played like we are.

October 29, 2023 at 6:41 pm #146509ZooeyModeratorFootball experts refer to this kind of thing as a “step back.”
October 29, 2023 at 7:24 pm #146511wvParticipantI’d advise people to avoid any Skip Bayless vids this week.
Sigh.

October 29, 2023 at 9:52 pm #146513JackPMillerParticipantI am starting to wonder if burnout has taken McVay? It makes me wonder, if McVay, after the season, may decide to leave coaching, and take a few years off, before coming back to the NFL? If McVay does leave, who is going to replace him? Will the new coach, want to get rid of AD, & Matt Stafford, as to rebuild, as in trades?

October 30, 2023 at 2:21 am #146515InvaderRamModeratorit started out well enough. the defense was putting heavy pressure on prescott. and then the ticky tack illegal contact foul which extended the drive. and then it all fell apart from there. mistakes and another questionable non-call.
just very depressing. but probably most depressing was the stafford injury.
i don’t know what else to say at this point. don’t want to make any sweeping statements about the future of this team. there’s plenty left of the season to play out. i’m gonna try to reserve any such statements until the season is over.
October 30, 2023 at 5:34 am #146516nittany ramModeratorThe wheels have come off. Â Starting to look like another lost season especially if Stafford misses multiple games.
On the bright side, the 49âers have lost three straight.
Thatâs something anyway.
October 30, 2023 at 6:30 am #146517canadaramParticipantAfter yesterdayâs loss the Rams would currently pick 9th in the draft. Arizona has the first pick.

With this difference. 2023 was never a goal in itself and wins this year were always going to be gravy. Next year they will have a more experienced secondary, LB corps, edge rushers, DL, OL, and offense generally. They will be able to self-scout weak points and areas which will have developed. They can add to that in a very informed way via both free agency and the draft, including a 1st round pick that will more than likely be higher than 20th.
Not long ago, some thought the Rams were deliberately tanking. Then, turns out they’re better than that. But then on the 2nd “turns out,” turns out not so much better that they can afford a young team’s mistakes against top teams.
Yet they can still win some. This year will not be a slaughter-fest like 2022.
Here’s the Rams new slogan–we’ll see in 23, and then get more in 24.
October 30, 2023 at 9:49 am #146523ZooeyModeratorThat non-call PI on Kupp at the goal line was exactly the same play that happened in the Super Bowl, with the difference that it was called that time.

Agreed that this season is basically an extended preseason for 2024, however, for those of us who consider ourselves Rams fans, that doesnât make losing any easier.
As a Seahawks fan itâs easy for you to maintain a clinical detachment when discussing the Rams, although your pro-Seattle biases do seep into your analysis, such as the time you referred to Kurt Warner as a poor manâs  Matt Hasselbeck.
October 30, 2023 at 1:35 pm #146527ZooeyModeratorIt’s bad when FOX evokes the mercy rule, and cuts away from the game to spare viewers the sight of a massacre.
October 30, 2023 at 1:39 pm #146528znModeratorsuch as the time you referred to Kurt Warner as a poor manâs Matt Hasselbeck.
Don’t distort my words. I said “he wasn’t even a poor manâs Matt Hasselbeck.”
And also don’t question my loyalties. I know more about the Rams than anyone you can name. From legends like Deacon “The Refrigerator” Olsen to present greats like Kopper Coop, I know the Rams and Rams history inside and out.
October 30, 2023 at 2:03 pm #146534znModeratorInteresting how many Rams that have been rightfully getting praise before this game suddenly tanked against Dallas…almost as if they were reading and believing their own press.
That includes
Witherspoon
Young
Dotson
Higbee
